That was the guy who tried selling it here on the boards, then bought a red silverado ss. I guess the word on the street is it has turbo problems. He sold it to phil haws and someone bought it and a week later it was on our lemon lot.

That would be Mike Miranda, I thought he took really good care of his car. If it's just a turbo then why not replace the turbo and move on. I'm sure it's still a really nice car with low miles too. I'm not sure what he bought, but the SS was his sisters car and maybe he decided to take that instead.

$27,500.00 isn't that bad at all. If I was going to sell my 2004 STi today I would want at least $25,500 or $26K. BMW of Anchorage is selling a 2005 Java Black STi for $28,995.00.

27,500 sounds a little high for an 05' STi. I've noticed a few sell on ebay lately for 22-24K. Looked like nice cars with clean titles and low miles.

But it all depends on how much of hurry the buyer is in, and how many alternatives he/she has when they go to buy.

I hate to think of how little my 04 wrx is probably worth now. Good reason to just keep it and get the bigger turbo...

Why does 27k for a 05 sounds high? It's a $34,000 car new off the floor. Sounds about right to me

See the rest of my post above.

It's just my opinion. But this car has been setting on a lot for a couple of months in the winter (someone said it might have mech. problems?) and there are 06 STI's all over ebay for 27 and 28K. I saw one dealership in the NASIOC vendors forum advertising brand new left over 06's for 29K. I certainly wouldn't buy this car for 27,500, but I'm sure there might be someone who will.

I hope the insurance rates go down a little on those cars in a year or two; I'd really like to have an 05 or 06 STi.

I second his opinion, the car is two years old now, and dealerships are kicking the 06 out the door cheap.

Were not the lower 48s... and NASIOC vendors are not in Alaska as well. The vehicles sold here are much more expensive compared to the 48s pricing. Their is a reason you have to put in a zip code to find out the NADA value for a vehicle. Different prices have different value due to the demand of the car. Especially people here wanting AWD our prices are higher. Yes ebay or watever vendor may have it for cheap and than shipping needs to be paid. Some people go that route but being in Alaska you should know how the system is here. Everything is more expensive here... but we also do make more money than other people in other states. For example their minimum wage in may places is around $6 while ours is $7. You can buy Evo MRs for like 33k instead of this BS 41k markup here. All about supply and demand. Yes I know that turbo is shot on the car but from what it seemed to be said. 27k for a good condition STi is about right. For one that is not good condition than no.

Yeah, when I do buy a new car it will be in California and I'll drive it up to Alaska. Prices there are so much cheaper than here. You can find cars that are really cheap. Even used cars with less than 5,000 miles knock off a lot off of the MSRP. Brand new cars here are expensive unless you find a rare deal. But there's not a lot to choose from and we don't have infiniti either lol.
