It`s like a elusive rare animal to me, like some mythical beast. I saw it a couple months ago in exactly the same way as today. Only today it had the top down. I was coming back from Whistler in the afrternoon when I saw the unfamiliar grille in my rearview mirror. I was trying to make out what it was as it blew past me in the inside lane- all black and shiney.

Same as last time, when I realized what it was I tried to catch up to gaze upon it. But everytime I got close, he opened it up and I might as well have been standing still. Both times he exited around Horseshoe bay.

Anyone else seen it..

I swear to god I saw a black one in the customer parking lot of the head office McDonalds on Willingdon.

On a side note, I heard there's a Lexus LFA in town. Anyone seen it?

ah yes, the SLR is pretty sick. i got to sit in Kyle Washingtons SLR at the benz dealer in north van, before he took delivery! that was a few years ago now. have you seen SR's flat black SLR 722?

on a side note: justine and i spotted a Bugatti Veyron cruising through stanley park. if you dig through the spotted thread i posted pics a while back. we followed it up taylor way and onto the highway. made the LP640 infront of it look like junk hahaha.

I've seen quite a few, maybe because I live near Rolls, Bentley, Aston, Weissach etc...but I see a lot of doap cars and the SLR doesn't seem all that uncommon.

Several weeks ago (Thursday, July 22nd) I was driving behind, what I could have sworn was, a red Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG on the East end of Broadway in Burnaby. It had Alberta plates.
But I just checked Wikipedia, and I'm not sure if it's even on sale yet - at least not in North America.

Not a big deal at all. I've seen a black roadster SLR with an "L" on the back.

Vancouver's full of $$. Three of the first Carrera GTs were sold here, even before they were showing up in places like Beverly Hills.

One of the guys who got in on the first batch of GTRs from me had 8 cars. He swapped the GTR for a GT2 before even getting through the break-in period. Very little of the high-end stuff goes to anyone who deserves/appreciates it.

There's been at least six sold here in Victoria.

Once again, Wikipedia is not to be trusted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_SLS_AMG

I saw one at Thurlow/Alberni a few nights ago parked right outside the Shangri-La hotel. Some young asian girl got out of the car. Can't remember if it had Alberta plates though.

Here;s the confusion. He posted SLR, when he meant to post SLS. The SLS IS very uncommon at this point where as the SLR is reasonably common in comparison.

No he meant SLR. He said "top down" which would be hard to do with the SLS AMG and its gullwing doors, no?

Ya, it was an SLR that I saw. I guess I was surprised at how sexy it was in person, the photos and TV don't seem to do it justice compared to 'live.'

For sure! The SLR has an amazing presence in person and looks a lot more imposing compared to the pics.
