People live in the ****ing Midwest where we get a decent amount of snow every year. We don't get dumped on like some parts of the country and yet people can't figure out how to drive properly. This is seriously one of my biggest pet peeves about drivers out here.

summer only means summer only. They are not snow rated and are useless under 45 degrees just like every other summer tire.

That accident was completely you own fault.

As i left the stopsign and began turning i felt the rear end of the car start to kick out so i hit the brakes and the abs kicked in and just made things worse...slide into a parked scion xB. I feel horrible

Damage done to the scion... very little compared to me IMO

ugh...i still cant belive what happened...on the first snow day, on my first turn...
When you start sliding on a turn do not stab the brake. Give it light progressive throttle and correct the steering. The AWD will pull you out pretty quickly unless you are going too fast. The backend can kick out pretty easy if you are turning onto unplowed roads. I scared the crap outta a family in a sedan monday morning when the roads where not plowed yet and my tail did a wiggle.

I had a little accident too. Its my first winter with a license, so I wanted to have some fun. A little later in the day, when the snow had stopped, I went into a turn a little fast, underestimating the state of the roads, slid, kept steady on the throttle, but didn't straighten up in time. Smashed the curb, BAM! 100$ mistake right there, got a wheel alignment a couple hours later. Running re92s.

On a more positive note, the first day of snow was my birthday, and the drive to school that morning was the best of my life, and was full of much more successful drifts! Simply a blast!

I spun into a pole...I took my sub out to use my trunk.. and well the sub nd box weigh about 65-75 lbs... which helps on ice... and since I have an auto I've got a 90-10 slipt in D So when I went to go around a corner and the back end slid.. I gas it gas forgetting I wasn't in 1st.. so instead of just drifting a little. the front wheels just pulled me into the pole >.>... Was pretty stupid....Destroyed my light bar and cracked the hell outta my bumper...Grrr,,,,

Uh....... the power split is 45F/55R with an automagic 03 legacy

10F/90R would be pointless.....

A lesson I learned last winter (my first winter with a scoob.) Your damage isn't so bad...I managed to do about 4,000 to my car after colliding with a snowbank at roughly 25mph.

This thread would have popped up sooner or later though, or a new one with the same title.

The .002 inches of snow on the shoulders this morning seemed to only slightly affect morning commuters.
