I have hand washed my car with the vents and hoodscoop open and it does fine. I dont go to detailing places because they like to rev my engine and they just dont do a good job.

I've ridden through many rainstorms and some with heavy downpours with my WRX bonnet hood scoop and filter right underneath. The filter is actually visible if you stand in front of my car.

You know the big splashes during rainstorms that get all over the people on the sidewalk and your hood? Well, I've been through a few of them too, with water practically pouring into my engine compartment. No problems!

My poor OBS is going to leave me stranded someday for this.

I have your setup. Ganzflow, open vents, etc etc. I was forced to open the middle one when I installed a front strut bar. I haven't had a single problem yet. I went through snow storm, rain storm, car washes, big puddles....

The only reason I hate leaving the scoop open is how DIRTY it gets inside the engine bay.

I'm an auto tech and you have to suck up alot of water to hydrolock your motor. Aslong as you don't submerge the intake filter you shouldn't have a problem.

The opening for the intake isn't even in the engine bay... why would you worry about this?
