Default Failsafe reverts to "wastegate pressure," so what spring to use in my ext. wastegate?

I'm going ot be using the Aquamist 2D setup with DDS3, which I will have setup to revert to wastegate pressure when a fault is sensed. The question is, what is a safe wastegate pressure to use?
How heavy of a spring do I want to use in my external wastegate? I will most likely run 21 or 22 pounds of boost when I get tuned, and the default wastegate spring is 14.5 pounds, but I can change it to a stiffer or softer spring before ordering at no cost.
If it matters, EJ205, Deadbolt Super 16G turbo, Aquamist 2D/DDS3, TiAL 44mm EWG.
Thanks for your help...
Bryan

You should be fine with the 1.0 bar waste gate spring, I wouldn't suppose it would lean out with that little amount of boost.

What kind of EM are you running? There has got to be a better way to utilize the DDS3 than just dumping boost. I am also looking into the DDS3 because of it capacity to interface with the ECU to trim fuel and timing, which I thought would be safer and less of a hastle when a flow problem was detected. But who knows? I dont really know much about WI, yet...

Are you able to re-map your ecu at or below wastegate pressure? If it is possible, you can run a richer afr and lean off the afr form wastergate to 22psi - sounds crazy, but it is one possible method. Looking at the table below, you might have a better mpg at higher boost

Well the plan was to go Ecutek but its not set in stone yet. I like Andy at Xotic Motorsports and he tunes Ecutek which is why I was planning to go with that, but I admit it is not the perfect solution for WI integration. Is there a better way to use the DDS3 with Ecutek, or should I really be looking for another EM solution?

Alternative EM, I saw a post on Hyrdra forum today, Phil (Elecment tuning) has annouced a hydramist system, he is taking orders now with a good discount.

Richard

PS, I agree that the map is a bit drastic but workable.

oh damnit, i keep hearing about the hydra left and right but hell... more money for the ems, then way more for the tune. bah...
so you're telling me there isnt a more ideal way to take advantage of the ecutek with the dds3 for the failsafe?
and p.s. richard did you get my last email about this topic and also about the 90 degree barb? thanks...

Why couldn't you just get an Apexi' AVCR. With that you can switch up to waste gate pressure from inside the car within 2 mins.

When you reduce boost, your engine will see a reduced cylinder pressure as well so running a safe afr and moderest ignition map will probably means you can be relatively safe when the 2d reduces you boost during system fault. This is by far the most cost-effective way to Plan-B.

hey richard, this is bryan troll... i was asking you about a 90 degree fitting so i could fit the 2D setup onto your bracket correctly... i didnt hear back from you about it but i received it in the mail today, so thanks!
i think i'm going to go with the 1 bar spring and it should work regardless of how i set the failsafe up.
