I haven't used it on the subie yet, but i'll spray it on a foam applicator and rub it into the dash of my s2000 until it pretty much disappears and there's no need to buff. Looks great.

I set up the camera and took some video a week or two ago and thought I'd share it here. Basically it shows:
- use of the foam gun (in high-speed)
- water beading/sheeting
- "drying with the hose"
to demonstrate some of these concepts in a way that words just don't do justice.

Enjoy!

great video!. Are steps edited out? I mean, was it wash, rinse, 'dry' rinse as presented? What finish was on the car to begin with?

Has anybody used WD-40 to remove sap?? I walked into Advanced auto and they said it was the best thing out there. It took the sap right off like it was just a tiny piece of dirt!! I'd use it again but I figured I'd check to see if it was bad for the paint before I start using it on a regular basis

It probably took off ALL your wax protection, but yeah it works. Wax it again tho.

Yeah, WD-40 is mostly Stoddard solvent - de-odorized kerosene.

Thanks, yeah I didn't bother recording the washing stage, since there's nothing really unusual about running a sheepskin mitt over the surface of the car

Good stuff. Did this to my car this w/e and it looks great.

One question though. Couple weeks ago I clayed and waxed (Zymol cleaner wax) my hood. Will I still get really good results if I put the polish on top of the wax? Or should I strip the wax then start from there?

Thanks.

Okay, just to clarify, you would not "put" polish on top of the wax. You would polish the car, and then clean the polish off via 50/50 mix of water and alcohol. You do not leave polish on the car, polish is basicly like sandpaper in liquid form that makes your paint bling. So if you were to polish your car correctly, it would strip the wax, and the imperfections in your paint. Wax is only there to protect your paint from the elements and give it a deeper gloss.

So to answer your questions, your paint would most likely look its best if you polished the paint and then waxed it. but if you did it last weekend i'd wait until your paint really needs it.
