Default Who is supposed to clean up car accidents?

Man there is a ton of broken glass on the street in front of my house. I'm assuming there was a car accident recently or one hell of a car theft ring. Who is responsible to clean this up? I would do it myself but it is very close to a busy intersection. Its pretty crappy to have to drive over shattered glass.

the firefighters usually sweep the mess at least to the side of the street.

however, ive noticed the pile of debris in the middle of the busiest intersection by my house. i guess they just 'get it out of the way'

Here is some ironing.... The FD is one block down from my street. Maybe I should go bang on the door.

I wouldn't do that. Houses do burn down.

my high school biology teacher picked up roadkill whenever she could. she and her husband kept it in a big freezer at home and dissected stuff for fun.

FD doesn't have to clean up the mess, they just do for the sake of everyone else. So you can't just knock on the door and tell them to clean it up.
