Default WTB: Truck or SUV that can tow at least 7,700 lbs

My sister and her husband just bought a new trailer and need a vehicle that can pull it on longer trips than my old 76' Chevy can handle.

Does anyone have a cheaper truck or SUV that is capable and reliable?

Diesel a plus.

Thanx!

Bry.

Cheaper is a very relative term. Do you have $$ number in mind?

I'd recommend a used Suburban. The older 3/4 ton ones had a diesel available.

You're going to be looking at some very old diesel trucks for $5k and below. You're probably better off with gas. I see a good amount of Expeditions and Suburbans at that price on CL.
