Cody's 2015 CWP WRX Thread
Cody's 2015 CWP Subaru WRX Limited This page is dedicated to my 2015 CWP Subaru WRX Limited and my experiences with it including but not limited to: maintenance experiences, modifications, occasional reviews and lots of pictures. If you're looking for a build thread with nitrous and big turbos, sorry but you're going to be disappointed here. I don't intend on making this car anything crazy as it is my daily driver and I am into the simple, clean and OEM+ look. I'm thoroughly enjoying this car more than any other one I've driven so far (see list below). It is really a great combination of usability, performance, practicality and sportiness and I look forward to hopping in any chance I can. While this will be my daily driver I do intend on eventually doing some minor upgrades to it both cosmetically and performance oriented. Currently on the want list: 2015 Base STI Wheels/Enkei RPF1 RCE Yellow Springs OEM STI Front Lip Previous Vehicles: 1995 Nissan 240sx 1998 Chrysler Sebring Lxi 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4 2011 Subaru WRX 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T AWD Modifications: Performance: Invidia N1 Street Catback Exhaust (Removed) Protection: Protection Plus 3M Paint Protection Kit Subaru All-Season Floor Mats Exterior: Grimmspeed Plate Relocation Kit OLM License Plate White Bulbs Red Grille Pinstripe Red Side Emblem Inlay 3M 35% Tinted Windows Interior: OEM STI Shift-Knob (Red) OEM STI Console Swap (In Progress) OEM JDM Console Hood w/Red Stitching Overland Designs Black Leather Handbrake Boot w/Red Stitching Red WRX Shifter Inlay Carbon Fiber Vinyl Steering Wheel Inlay Wheels/Tires/Suspension: Perrin 20mm Spacers General Altimax Arctic Snow Tires (Seasonal) Timeline: 4/5/2014: Placed order at Bertera Subaru in Hartford,CT. 5/6/2014: Car arrives at dealership. 5/16/2014: Take delivery of car. (SubiSpeed) 2/8/2015: Installed Invidia N1 Street Catback Exhaust First pictures the day I picked it up: Drove immediately to Protection Plus in East Longmeadow, MA to get the 3M Clear-Bra put on the bumper, hood/scoop, headlights/fogs/blinkers, fenders, mirrors, door cuffs, door edges, rockers and rear bumper applique. Just so happens they were working on another NASIOC members 15 WRX the day I brought mine in: Next morning installed my Grimmspeed Plate Relocation Kit that I had left over from my previous 11 wrx and snapped some pictures. The 11-14 main bolt is too long so I had to order the BRZ main bolt:

Figured I'd capitalize on the remaining leaves and get a few pictures after a good wash/wax/detail before they're all gone. Snow tires and mudflaps will be going on soon as well for the winter. Don't mind the time-stamps, I was too lazy after uploading to go back and remove them:
And a B/W one for fun: |

Thanks!!
Appreciate it, and that's awesome. It's a great color for sure and after coming from a line of black cars I find it pretty refreshing. Installed the OLM License Plate White Bulbs today in a matter of 5 minutes (Thanks SubiSpeed!!). I highly recommend these to everyone with this car. It's a very low priced mod that really enhances the overall look. The before/after picture speaks for itself, but the light now flows 100% better with the limited headlights: |

Winter Update
Not much has changed but figured I'd post a few more pics and update what's new. Added General Altimax Arctic snow tires for the season which are great so far. Only experienced one dusting and one snowfall (3-4 inches) and they are EXCELLENT. I've always been an advocate for a dedicated set of snow tires if your area receives frequent snow falls like here in New England. They actually appear to be slightly quieter than the stock tires and ride a bit smoother, however the dry pavement grip is obviously a little squishy.
Aside from this, I ticked over 10,000 miles! No mechanical issues knock on wood, but plenty of fun. Shot of his-and-hers: |

Some more winter pictures & Invidia N1 Street Catback Exhaust. Other goodies on the way:
And the exhaust. It will take a little getting used to the single exit, but I love the way it sounds. This should hold me over until my warranty expires. At that point I'll likely get a J-Pipe, Invidia Q300 and a nice tune: |

We haven't had any snow really down here in Maryland. I'm not complaining Maybe it was the people who mounted mine but I notice mine being louder than the stock tires. :/ |

Car looks great but I would take off the "tony's Sign" on top of your car.... just seems out of place

They are nice, I loved my 2011. This one is actually a 2015 though .
Another minor update. Felt the need to spruce up the interior a bit and help it "flow" a little better. It was killing me that all leather pieces in the car had red stitching except the handbrake boot, so Overland came to the rescue. Aside from this a few exterior enhancements: -JDM Subaru Console Hood (Leather w/red stitching) -OEM Subaru STI Shift-Knob -Overland Designs Black Leather Handbrake Boot w/red stitching -Red Shifter Inlay (not installed in picture) -Red Grille Pinstripe (not shown) -Red Emblem Inlay (not shown) (Don't mind the dirty floor mats, it's part if living in New England in the winter.) |

Car looks suh-weet. CWP is a lil brighter than SWP but if I traded up to a '15 it's what Id go with. Very nice sir.

A couple updates: 1.) Removed the snow tires and put the stock Dunlops back on. WOW these things are noisy. Coming from the soft compound of the General Arctic Altimax really made the noise of these Dunlops stand out. It's night and day. The handling characteristics are great to have back (and improved braking), but the noise is something I didn't miss. 2.) Removed and sold the Invidia N1. Decided the single exit look wasn't what I was looking for, and I'd rather spend my money on other mods for the car at this time. 3.) Had 3M 35% tints put on, added a carbon fiber vinyl steering wheel inlay, and bought parts to do the STi center console swap. The tints are a nice addition and in my opinion look great as a contrast to the white. Found the steering wheel inlay I wanted on eBay and I couldn't be happier with it. Fits perfectly, fills that nasty silver space that was there before. And the STi console swap is something I knew I had to do after seeing it on NBRX's car (check his thread out, awesome stuff!). 4.) Installed Perrin 20mm wheel spacers all around to help hold me over until I pick up my "real" wheels (RPF1 likely). I wasn't really planning on it but I came across a hell of a deal and couldn't pass them up. Here is one quick shot, but they REALLY help the stock wheels fill the wheel well better. Better pictures to come. Many more mods planned, just a matter of time . |
