Thumbs down My first ever FTD ruined!

It figures, Mark Daddio, multiple times SCCA national champion, decided that today's CART event is the first event he should attend this year. Damn him!! As a result, my first FTD was stolen from me (and it wasn't even close). Mark ran a 45.541 (and I think that was +1 ) to take FTD, and I had the 2nd fastest time with a 46.955 (barely edging out Joe Zanavich in his E-Mod Mustang with a 46.968).

Oh, and just to show it's not just the Neon that's fast, at the end of the day Mark did two fun runs in a stock 2001 Z28 SS - 46.2xx and 46.4xx on street tires! The guy certainly knows how to hustle a car through the cones.

I'm still not sure what I had done differently, but my first run of the day was actually my "fastest", a 47.5xx (+1), so it was really a 46.5xx. The cone I hit was due to being maybe 6" off my line coming out of a zig-zag kinda thing, so I know I didn't pick up 4/10ths there. I'm thinkin' maybe as the pavement heated up it was getting less sticky, but then again I know I was carrying more speed into the corners in my later runs, so I dunno.

Anyway, I'm happy about my time, but why did Mark have to show up today?! [commence sulking]

Oh god would ya stop your bitchin for crying out loud man, suck it up and take it like a man. I am just playin, you really should have taken the FTD, you were robbed, that bastard, what buisness does he have coming and taking your FTD and my freakin DSP win. (probably the last time I think I had a chance to spank the DSP class, and the bastard comes in and kicks the snot out of everyone. Go back to where you came from damn it!)

DAMN THE MAN with the Neon. He really was an awesome driver though. No question about it
Ok now back to sulking.

Bitch, Bitch, Moan, Moan...

Mark Da Via took FTD on his FIRST run in that infernal 996 TT at yesterday's PCA autoX. And crap I ended up 4th in modified casue my fast run (which would have been first place) I nicked a cone ( I basically blew it over it was so close).

No sympathy from me.

Oh yeah and TTO got race tires for his Scooby, we're coming back to CART and we're gonna kick some but.

Aren't cones worth 2 seconds??? They are where I run. I like the one second cones much better.

Ran an AutoX yesterday out at Devens, a few spectaculer cone smahing runs were put in. The Chicago Box produced a couple of 5-6 cone mishaps. Kind of cool to watch 5 cones flying all at the same time.

Well, well, well..... I look forward to some decent Subaru competition. I won't make any boastful claims, because I've seen how you kids run on street tires.

Oh, and what's this "coming back to CART" stuff? You make it sound like you've been a regular here at some point!

Bill - For some reason CART does 1 second for the first cone, then 2 seconds for ever cone after that. Kinda pointless in my opinion, but whatever.

KIDS? Who you calling a kid? Eh, bucko?

Ya! Da race tires are da bomb! I actually went faster than DaVia with my race tires, after he switched to street tires! (It was close: I got him by .2) BTW: I was using a Whiteline rear set at 18mm.

As for Kelly Evans; I'm not sure of his time, but I think he went faster than me by the end of the day. Daymn that guy can drive!

Looking forward to the next event, and some more good competition.

Kelley Ran a 46.4 which beat my clean 46.6, I came in fourth for the first time ever.

That's what I get for trying to autox with a hangover

That may be true, but I have an easy excuse if you beat me now, KC. "Well, I've only got 165hp, and he's got one of those new turbo WRXs with 227hp. That makes a pretty big difference." That's all I gotta say.

On the other hand, if I manage to beat you, then the extra power just adds to the gloat-ibility: "Yeah, even with 60-sumthin' more horsepower than me, and a lot more auto-xing experience, he just couldn't hang."

See, it's a no-lose situation for me!
