You need a windshield washer pump because if it fails, it will still let water through. Putting a 2-5 ohm 25W resistor inline will extend its life.

If you run high concentration of meths in the truck tank, always vent the breather hose outside the car. This will avoid any fire/explosion hazard caused by a certain concentration of math fume mixed with air.

is 50% considered a high concentration Richard?

I'd like to hear anyone's experience with venting trunk-mounted tanks in new-age Imprezas. Specifically, the spec-C tank and the STI sprayer tank.

I believe 75%+ to be regarded as ghigh concentration of methanol. Since the Aquamist forum is now re-opened, here is a link to some useful information regarding water/methanol mix.

Its one of several formal definitions of the characteristics of flamable liquids.

It would be nice if someone could determine at what ambient temperatures various mixes of water and methanol begin to evaporate.

Does the methanol evaporate sooner than the water, leaving more water than methanol, effectively "diluting" the mixture? Or do the two become a unified solution once mixed?

Methanol and water will form small bonds with each other since both are polar molecules and due to london forces but those are the weakest of all bonds and the methanol will still evaporate at a faster rate than the H20.

congratulations, you own a very complete system, the failsafe tracks the flow against IDC full time. Very advanced piece of equipment.

Please do post 'em. I just got the same kit and want to see where you and
Jeff mounted the pump, the controller, and the display. (Hoping most of the pix will apply to an '02 wagon....) Also, did you install a new tank?

Jeff

This is a perfect place of the system. Pity it would be seen once the rain cover is replaced.

Looking forward to the next set of pictures.

Hey pdx, ...nice camber plates!!!

Also, will the rain cover go back over the pump after installation or do you plan on leaving it open? If it's going back on do you plan on slotting the cover to allow for the lines to exit the area from the pump?,,,as opposed to holes with grommets.

Richard, Don't you mean wouldn't (be seen) ???

Also, people who have this kit should be aware that whether they're using the stock windshield tank or an auxilary tank in the engine compartment, according to the installation instructions--which recommend the pump assembly be lower than the lowest point of the tank--they'll likely need a primer pump if they install the pump assembly where PDX has installed his. (His Spec 2 tank has a primer pump built-in, I believe.)

PDX, Would love to see where you tapped for the nozzle....and where you mounted the dash display....

The rain cover is back in place and as I loomed everything up there is nothing to see.

We tapped the Y pipe intercooler inlet. I plan on running two jets, one in the Y and one right before the throttle body.

There are holes with grommets already so you can just run the wires and hoses through there. There is no need to cut the rain cover at all.

Other side, we ran the wires for the injector pulse and power and ground.
