With the hyperbolic comments here you'd think the STI trips over itself and explodes when you try to turn it in. Am I the only one that with a STI that destroys curves and corners? I don't even have a bigger anti-sway bar.
To counter a previous post I really don't think the BRZ will leave your STI for dead in a corner. In the same corner the STI probably requires a lower entry speed and a later turn in but it'll exit the corner sooner and with a higher rate of speed. The BRZ may feel faster but feelings are just that. I appreciate the BRZ. I have a well balanced RWD turbo Ford which is a joy to drive in twisties. But I think some of the rhetoric is a bit overboard and misleading to uninformed readers considering the two vehicles. |

At least from WRX to BRZ there is no comparison on cornering Mike.
When the dealership got one in they let me take a test drive with one of the sellers who autox's an MR2. We took one of the tight corners in town, labeled 25mph that the wrx doesn't like to take much past 35 at 50 and there was still room to go faster in the brz. The difference between at least the WRX and BRZ is that the BRZ just feels very solid thru the corner, very little body roll and a lot of confidence. Mind you this is a 2011 which I have been informed is a lazy boy with a turbo attached. |

yeah the WRX has no finesse to it. It can claw its way around corners nicely but it has no balance. It just turbolag, huge wave of torque, slam on the brakes to avoid understeering into a tree at that point you can probably go WOT in anticipation of the corner exit which I think is the WRX's strength IF you get back on he throttle soon enough to kill the lag other wise you are a dead fish coming out of the corner...its really not something that is rewarding to do on curvey back roads and the brakes are far too weak for the track. Seems like auto x might be ok though from what I hear.
I just parked next to a WRB brz...the size/practicality downgrade is just not in the cards right now. |

The problem is you are adding throttle when you no longer have any grip. I do I agree that the STi is a plow machine. lol
