Great that the trans is doing that well man, really good to hear!

Been meaning to ask you, what's the spool up like with the 1.5xtr? Looking at the same turbo myself and wondering what the powerband is like and the drive ability of it? Thanks bud!

Late night typing typo. The rings are not cracked. Both ring lands are in two places each.
It's still the piston that's cracked. I've built a few quad motors when I raced mx and never heard the term "ringland". But I guess that's what people refer to it as.

It is a really common term in the Subaru community because they fail so often. Piston rings are the rings north of the ring lands...so if you just say piston rings...it really doesn't make since. My piston housing is not cracked. The rings in the ring land are as you can see in the picture.

Ryan's car is a beast. There's tons of money sitting on those hubs (brakes/wheels). Lol.

It is. His wheel, brake, tire, suspension combo is perfect.

Better be for the price of those Alcon's and JRZ's. Not to mention HRE's.

I love GT-R's and that would be my ideal car for daily use if I made a 6 figure income. I'm not even sure I'd want to drive one given the chance because it would be depressing getting back in the Subaru, lol.

I am seriously considering one right now. I love my Subaru but a GT-R is more DD friendly and it still fits my son/has a huge trunk.

I like the GTR, I really do, but they are a whole different ball game price wise. Looking at Jotech's website, Stage 1( cat back exhaust, access port and a custom tune is $6000.00). I'm sure you know exactly what your getting into but, personally, I would like to see you continue to develop your WRX I love the methodical, logical approach you take. But maybe it's just me. Plus, I don't know how I would feel carrying my kids around in a $90,000 GTR LOL but I guess it is just a car after all.

Been carrying mine around in his Recaro car seat in one for two weeks! But the other issue I am running into with my Subaru is what else do I do? Just about every single part of the car (especially now with this motor) as been done. I really enjoy the car and have zero regrets. I would actually love to keep it for a lot longer. I will never go rotated on it and that leaves the timeline pretty empty at this point.

Yeah it is a different price point for modding an maintenance. Initially, I would stay at downpipes, y-pipe, exhaust, intercooler and tune. That is good for about 575 wheel and super reliable on the 2012+ tranny's.

Just out of curiosity, why are you staying away from rotated?

Daily driving Subaru just isn't reliable at that point. Keep in mind...I have 44k on the car right now and it is a 2011. With a rotated setup, you lose daily drivability with later spool and it just doesn't make sense for what I do with the car. Also, it requires another big investment in parts and supporting mods and by that point...I could be in a GT-R which is a lot more reliable platform at that power level.

I've been checking the threads all day in anticipation of this post... Hoping you some how expedited the break in process. No rush.

Looking forward to the results with the solid block.

We will really be able to stretch the legs of this Dom 1.5 now. I can't wait to see how it does...and possibly an e85 map.
