How can I monitor idcs
Is there anyway to monitor injector duty cycles without a utec?

yeah I believe many OBD2 scanners can monitor this as well. I know mine can.

exscuse me? The scan tool I bought reads the IDC from the ECU... I have to look and see what it is but it's not deltadash.. that is just one example of a scan tool... Mine does not have nearly that resolution though so would not be as useful for tuning but cost a heck of a lot less.

The SEC PSI^3 unit shows injector pulse width which is just one calculation away from IDC.

alternate method
On a somewhat related note, you can monitor MAF values with some OBD-2 scan tools (I use a pocketlogger). Assume values for safe AFR, fuel density, injector size, and desired max IDC and you can easily come up with a maximum safe lb/min air flow target. Off the top of my head, I'd say it's somewhere around 26-28 lb/min for stock injectors.
...and no, my pocketlogger does not give any injector data. -my 0.02 edited to add injector size to list of assumed values. Last edited by jlevy; 02-06-2004 at 02:09 AM. |
