Default where is the idle screw?

there is quite some talk about it on the forum, and someone even posted pics, but they are now broken.

where the hell is this magical idle screw on 2.5NA engine? i know you're not supposed to touch it (service manual warns agaisnt it), but im curious to at least know where it is.

from what I understand if you touch it the ECU would just adjust it back to whats programed in.

What is compelling you to adjust the idle via the idle adjust screw?

How is your car running?

i have wild cams, so idle sucks obviously. but i raise it through the ecu to 950rpm without a problem.

the idle screw is just a curiousity thing, i always hear it mentioned, but cannot locate it for the life of me!

The idle adjust screw is located on the accelerator cable linkage. Your linkage has two spots for cables to connect to it. The outboard spot is where the cruise control connects to and the inboard one is where the accelerator cable connects to. At the very tip of where the accelerator cable linkage rests when the throttle is closed is a small screw that can be used to adjust the idle. That screw also has a little nut on it that you have to loosen in order to move the screw. Its either a 7mm or 8mm nut (forget off-hand). That nut is there to hold the screw firm once you get done adjusting the screw so don't forget to tighten it back up.
