Question Palm diagnostic tool that displays EGTs?

I have read all I found on the forums regarding diagnostic tools for use with Palms. The only program I saw a decent amount of info on was the Pocketlogger one. This one looks nice but it doesn't display EGTs. Is there any program that displays them? Are there any that people like better than pocketlogger?

someone that knows please correct me if Im wrong.

Egt is not part of the ODB-II standard for ecu interface so no odb reader will tell you egt. The only way to read egt on a subaru car without a gauge is with a subaru specific tool such as the tool used in dealerships. The only other alternative I know of is running DeltaDash on a laptop. Good luck!

PS. Pocketlogger is good but not exactly fast. Great for those pesky cels. If I were to do it again I would get a cheap old laptop and buy deltadash.

I maybe mistaken, but I don't think the stock EGT sensor is sensitive enough to give accurate temp readings (or voltages). I think it can only read when it's too hot or too cold.

Anybody have better information?

Should be able to log this with the logging software that comes with the FJO wideband O2 - it logs RPM, A/F, and a third item you can chose - I chose RPM, but I'm pretty sure EGT would also be fair game.

Only problem is that it's probably not going to be worth the cost if you don't have the FJO already - I'm also assuming the voltage range is wide enough that you can get more than just hot or cold, as Bigmike mentioned.

Generic OBDII readers can only show a limited number of the data parameters from the ECU, about a dozen or so. To see all the available data you need a Subaru-specific reader, the only two I know of are the Subaru Select Monitor and the Delta Dash. Maybe the Snap-On scanner can do it but it's $$, the Delta Dash is much cheaper.
