Default Omori Gauge Install Questions

I just picked up a set of 45mm Omori gauages, I got boost, EGT and Oil Temp. A couple questions:

- Anyone know if the stock EGT sensor can be tapped rather than installing another one? According to the service manual it looks like there are just two wires that could easily be tapped, but who knows if it's calibrated the same as the Omori sensor.

- The omori kit came with a replacement oil drain plug that the sensor fits into. It looks like that will make it difficult to change the oil though. Any suggestions? Can it be mounted elsewhere? Again, is there a stock oil temp sensor that could be used?

Thanks, I'll post pics after the install. The gauges have yellow needles and should match the stock WRX interior nicely.

Eric

FWIW, I think I remember people writing that the the stock EGT sensor was too different from aftermarket gauges to be used.

Also, the factory gauge pod also uses an oil plug sensor for oil temp. The only other potential sensor locations I've seen mentioned here are usually used for oil pressure instead.

Ah, cool - that was another concern of mine, I don't want to get any hassles from the dealer for having some funky mods. If the factory gauge uses a similar sensor I guess it's not too wierd...
