Anyone got an old "McCurley Imports" license plate frame?
Hey guys,
I just recently acquired a 1988 XT6 from the original owner. In my paperwork, I found a sales receipt from when she bought the car new from McCurley Imports in Pasco. I own a few different cars, and one of my goals is to always source an original dealer plate frame if I know where the car was originally sold. Seeing as you folks are the Pac Northwest forum, I wanted to start here to see if you had one kicking around or maybe had a family member with one hanging on their wall. In a perfect world, the frame itself would be the style they had on cars going out the door in 1988. Sorry for the weird request but thanks for any help. -Jeff

now days McCurley has branched off into separate dealerships (McCurley Subaru, McCureley Honda, etc). Finding one of these frames will be hard. Hope this information is useful. GL

I'd contact the dealership. http://www.mccurleysubaru.com/ Either Internet Sales guru or the parts desk. The first one may be willing to mail it for free....
Never hurts to ask. Speaking on the phone with someone there would raise the success rate. |

Ya finding a vintage one will be hard. I'd love to find a Forest Subaru one for my car (the dealer in my hometown when I was a kid)
Something odd to try, but it just might work: Look at craigslist ads in Kennewick, Pasco, Richland WA (Tri Cities) If the pictures are decent MAYBE you can spot an old car for sale with the plate frames. Contact the seller and offer to buy the frames for $20 or something. It would be a super long shot though. If you don't mind it being new, then as said above, just contact the dealer. |

You can also call up junk yards. It'll be odd but hopefully for the right price they'll go out and look.
