Default Omori EGT installed two days ago and already gone!!!!

I got installed my OMORI Boost ang Egt gauges yesterday and my EGT is going crazy specially when the car is cold and the warning led in also blinking a lot.
I want to know if the problem is caused by the gauge or by the probe.
Once the car warms up the gauge is a little better but still crazy.

Any sug.????????

Had the same problem-

Make sure that you route the wire from the probe to the gauge so that it doesn't get wet. When it does get wet, the gauge flakes out.

how stable is the power supply to the gauge? check your power and grounds. double check the probe connections to the gauge.

I'm really up set I just drove my car for 20 min. and from the first min. to 10 min the gauge was ABSOLUTLEY of control. After that the gauge is still crazy bouncing and the warning led blinking.

The gauges was installed by one of the most reputable shops in So Cal Sby Specialties.

Also I notice some loss on the power in the lights in the dash they are weak
maybe there is some kind of prob. with the wiring???

It seems the most common cause of needle bouncing with these gauges is a weak ground, leaking tap or shot probe.

How did you wire your gauges into the electrical system? Did you use an actual 1/8 BSPT tap to thread the hole, or did you use a 1/8 NPT and try to ram it in there?

My first probe went after three days.

Oh, and hi Mike. Thanks again for the help with my EGT probs. I'm going to try to get my gauges and probe replaced at j-spec.

/edit

Ah nevermind. Well, it wouldn't hurt to ask these questions at Suby Specialties I spose.

A few mornings ago after rain and really cold weather (frost all over the doors and windows) my omori egt was going nuts! But after 10+ minutes of driving and warming up it was back to normal. I would take it back and see what your shop can do for you

Mine had the same problem, what fixed it for me was to push in the connector between the probe wire and the guage wire a little farther.
