Default Management Science VS Management Info. Systems (degree)

Is there a large difference between these two concentrations? Both are concentrations in Business Administration, and it looks like both pretty much have the same starting pay, but I don't know about the long term. I’ve decided that Accounting really isn’t for me, so I’ve been trying to research other majors. Management Science sounds like it’s more analytical and problem solving, while information systems seems more like a typical IT job. Am I right? Any suggestions on which degree might have more demand in 2 – 4 years? I’m also wondering, since these are computer degrees, if there’s outsourcing going on with these types of jobs. There’s a lot I need to think about, I would appreciate any and all input.

the degrees are similar, and you are on the right track with the small difference. I wouln't really consider these computer degrees that are subject to outsourcing.

I don't think it makes much of a difference either way.

Don't sweat the outsourcing. With a BA degree, you likely won't be working a typical IT job anyhow - they'll want somebody more technical. You might be able to use it in a consulting gig, but that's about it. Being IT saavy will help regardless of what you get into, though...

if you plan on getting a degree related to tech, not really know what you exactly want to do, just tough it up a get an engineering degree(ee me ce or the weaker cs).

to get in a major corporation as a manager, youll most likely need either really good experience or technical + mba degree.
