Default P&L Motorsports Debuts their Drag Car: 2006 Midwest Subaru Shootout

http://gallery.projectwrx.com/slides...lbum_id=139101 <-- Full gallery, including a video of a 10.41 run can be found here

At the 2006 Midwest Subaru Shootout, P&L was proud to debut the last 10 months of hard work to our loyal customers and community.

We're very proud of the fact that every custom piece, short of the shortblock itself, has been fabricated in house by our master fabricators.

We'd like to start off by thanking our sponsors (TurboXS, Cosworth, Axis Power Racing, Amsoil, Precision Turbo, and Whiteline) for their invaluable contributions to this project! We wouldn't have been ready as quickly as we have been without them.

A little on the car itself: Obviously we're not going to tell all the details on the car, but here are the nitty gritty ones.

Engine: Axis Racing 2.5L
Heads: P&L ported and prepped
Trans: STI 6MT
Clutch: Exedy
EMS: TurboXS UTEC (speed density)
Turbo: Precision Turbo Garret GT series
Fuel: P&L 1600cc units
IC: P&L racing A/W supercooler
Owner: Fidel Caballero
Driver: Pawel Melwinski

Beyond that the rest of the details are hush hush.

We're waiting for driveline pieces so we've elected to take it out on a conservative "driveline" friendly tune just to help shake down the car, and we're estatic on the results!

First run off the bat we cracked a 10.4 @ 134

So needless to say, we're looking forward to refining what we've learned at this last event, and getting ready to come out in force in the spring!

Again, we'd like to thank all our sponsors and loyal customers who've given us the encouragement to have this car ready for our regional event.

Thanks again!

-Jorge (RiftsWRX) and the entire team at P&L Motorsports

Nope, just taking it easy. Not even flat foot shifting it yet.

Got some driveshaft shop goodies to put on the car yet.

Exactly correct. That car has a LOT left. Great Job P&L.

To see that car in person it was pretty dang awesome. It was hilarious. The subaru shootout was sharing the track with a corvette club and also with a huge group of hot rod drag race dedicated track cars. You should have heard the announcer when Pawel did the first pass.

He was calmly announcing and then Pawel was sitting at the start line and reving the car for launch (super loud) and the announcer stopped in his tracks.... Everybody kinda got silent and were watching like "WTF IS THAT???"... So then Pawel does the run and the announcer is like, "Who let THAT GUY in your group subaru??..."
I think he was a little suprised to see a subaru do that.
It was hilarious. OK, guess you had to be there.

Anyway, great results for very first passes at the strip.

Great Time. Do you have a picture of the entire engine bay?

Also, do you have to run a MAF with the speed density software?
