Yeah, and a little bit of octane.

What compression is yours?

cage? i dont think that will come into play. Most tracks that point is 11.5. I think it varies by sanctioning body (IE IDRC or NHRA) if you're running at an event and i guess your track could have its own rule for street legal drags, but the point that always comes up on here is 11.49 for a cage.

the last two times i went to california speedway for street legals you didnt need a firejacket. They just had an NHRA event there saturday and 12.99 and quicker needed a jacket. So the rules vary.

And the 35R car probably just missed 5th and coasted through the traps, hence the low Mph for the ET.

I wouldn't count 100 octane as pump gas - just being a smartass. That said, barrel no equal pump.

Tomei = 8cm2 TD05 20G, kind of a weird combo but works.

The 35R car didn't miss a gear...just a strange, slow track. No one, and I mean no one, cracked 11's except for 600+whp shop cars.

I will agree with this. It didn't work well for anyone's car except Zack's LOL.

The 35R had to miss a gear, or let off the gas. You cant run 12.0 @ 108mph with perfect driving.....he had to be slowing down.

as for the gas, see if you can get F&L Racing Fuel around you anywhere. I just found a place in my town that has 114 octane for $8/gallon.

Meh, i need some more seat time in the car... it should be more than capable of 12.6 or lower... guess i need to work on shift points and shifting... pump should be more than capable of 13.0 everytime...

Pump it should be capable of 12.8-9 all day long Zack. I think GLD will be...enlightening.

I'll look into it, but I doubt we'll have it. Never know until I try though.

Just giving you an idea of how the track was that day. There were two SR56 cars there, one of 114 unleaded and the other on Q16. Neither could break faster than 12.3's with 1.8 and lower 60's.

I'm surprised I managed 12.2 on a VF48 with a 1.8 60'. The 35R car was revving 4th out and not making any power, hence the lower trap speed. Later he did another 12.0 at 115.

one of my old cars ran 12.0s at 108-112 all day long on 1.5 60fts is what gave the 108, 1.6s would trap a little higher

my point wasnt that it couldnt be done at that trap......it was that it couldnt be done at that trap in an accelerating 6 speed sti.

the car had to be decelerating somehow....via powerloss, revlimiter, let off the gas, etc.

you may be able to do it with ppg's or an autobox.....but i've never seen 11.99-12.00 @ 108mph in a 6 speed.

yea my best 60ft's were 1.7 and yea track seemed slow, and my bald tires didn't help neither did my slipping clutch

zeropsi nice build. are you running a hybrid or 2.5l heads? I'm starting a very similary build in my 05 STi. Well the turbo, I'm going with 272 cams and some other fun things. Should be finished by Christmas, still buying parts right now.

It's a hybrid. Actually, I'm running JDM EJ207 heads, Spec C to be specific. They're the big port ones, stock combustion chambers, so higher compression. I hope those 272's turn out well - I've been contemplating larger cams, but I like the torque I have now.

Thank you BTW. You'll love this turbo - my only piece of advice is not to restrict it on the intake side. A larger diameter intake helps a lot.

There's another slip out there with a trap in the 112's - if I find it I'll post it up. Otherwise here they are. It was a slow track, everyone either spun or bogged, and the fastest was a 2.5L 35R car which ran a 12.0X @ 107.

Car 820:

You have good dyno numbers congrats on that, but I don't understand how you blame it on the track, look at your 60' times. Learn how to launch your car and shift correctly before blaming the track. I know plenty of people who go there and do just fine every weekend. How is it a slow track? How many times have you actually been to a track with your new power and ran your car? Take my post however you want, but I'm tired of hearing excuses from the shootout "the track is slow" "i bogged" etc.......
