Post helpful note to the members, please read..

Hey guys, since I just had a flat and had to use the spare, I checked the tire pressure and stuff on the doughnut. My factory doughnut that has been in my trunk for almost a year had 25 psi in it this morning when I put it on the car. It should have 60 psi in it! So, the next time your at the service station, make an effort to check it and put some air in it. I was glad I was home, and not on some interstate trying to get to a gas station.

Me too!

I carry a (non-flamable) Fix-a-flat from Prestone. If I need a spare, I just make a call.

When was I in your spare tire?????

Ohhhh, that must be that time when I got totally trashed on 97 Octane petroleum, could not remember **** for 2 days and woke up with lipstck covered trunk monkey!!!

Well, if so I am sorry about it! And if you see my friend 60psi tell hem to get the hell out of your tire - His girlfriend Nipple is looking for him.

I have a 12vdc air compressor in my trunk - a wise investment, I think. Just got a 12vdc impact wrench today, too. Haven't had a chance to try it out though. A report will follow once I do.

Wow, that was funny. I forgot you had that screen name..

I don't like the fix a flat stuff because the tire guys hate it. If you ever had to dismount a tire with that crap in it, you'll know what I mean. On my last car the top of the can broke while I was trying to put it in the tire, and the stuff got all over my aluminum rim and stained it! I was so pissed. I also had to go buy another can. That was the last time I used it.

About the spare, last year when I went to Carlisle show in Pa, this guy drove his car ('98 Impreza) back to Virgina on the spare!! I could not believe it. I would not attempt it, but it has been done.

The places I go, I wouldn't be without a spare. One thing is you can't always make a phone call, even with a cell phone. Secondly, who knows how long it would take for them to get there once you've called.

And that fix a flat ***** sucks. Doesn't help if you got a hole in the sidewall. And the tire guys definitely hate it.

Thumbs up

Funny you should post about this...I recently filled my donut up to 60psi...it had about 15 in it. That sucker has just been sitting in my trunk for 5, going on 6 years. Checked the spares in the family cars also....very very flat. Its a good thing to remember to all of your cars...not just the 'roo.
