The heated seats and mirrors are neat, but when i look out the window and see palm trees, i know that i dont exactly need the butt warmers but gizmos are neat, like the weatherband on the limited stereo...
Kickerz, did you put new struts/springs on your car, or just slap on the 18's? post a pic, i wanna check this out, after all this is becoming the SUS forum inside the Legacy forum f

If you still live in ABQ, there's time during the year that it gets a bit nipply. The bun warmers should work then, like December through February. It still gets below freezing.

It's actually my daughter's third car. She had a 91 White over Red Mustang 5 Liter convertible with white leather interior. She really didn't match with the car so we sold it after 2 years (actually it was a Ford and the planned obsolescence phase started to set in.) Then she had a 93 T/Bird that was my son's (until he got a 71 Pontiac LeMans 3 seat Wagon to play with). Same problem with the Bird, Forditis set in.
WE started looking at all kinds of cars, but she got used to driving my wife's Outback Ltd and my OBS, and she really wanted a AWD or 4 Wheel drive, but not an SUV. She really started to like the Legacy sedans, and got really lucky when we found the SUS. I should be getting the 215/55 15 Dunlop SP5000's on tomorrow, getting the front plastic stone guard this week, and probably the blackout windows on the rear and sides this week. She will probably get a moon roof next, then who knows. |

sybir, I really appreciate the offer, but I've already ordered it and (typical with the local Subaru dealers, after all SOA HQ is about 5 miles from me) I had to pay in advance.
If you have any extra pieces laying around let me know, if I'm thinking of getting anything else you have I'll let you know before I order anything else. Thanks, Ron |

Peaty, I noticed that yesterday. Thanks a lot for it.
The dealership quotes a $35, plus tax, fee for installing it. I saw your directions before I ordered it, so I'll be doing it myself. Thanks again, Ron |

Las Cruces brings a whole different light on it. Yes it's a tad warmer, you'd rather have refrigerant on the seats.
Here in NJ, the fabric seats are okay, I don't see why they have a seat heater, but maybe in New England it's cold enough to want hot seats in winter. You're right we can't let this thread die. Maybe I'll try to find out how many actual "SUS"'s were sold. Not Outback Sedans, but the real thing. I'll write to SOA and see what we can find out. Ron |

You're going from a 205/70 to a 215/55 tire. Isn't that going to look a little odd, you'll have a HUGE fender gap. But, who knows, it might look just fine. Make sure to post pictures when they're on!!

I wound up getting the Dunlop 205/55 15's, and yes there's quite a gap to the fender.
GOOD thing is that I've convinced my daughter that we need to put in adjustable coil over's, or something, so we can drop the car down a little more. (dad's aren't always totally stupid!!) It did drop by about an inch or so, and I like both the ride height and the tire combo a bit better, it actually has already made a difference in the turns with a slightly lower center of gravity and slightly fatter, and BETTER tires. The car had the original Michelins on it, and they were a bit dry rotted. (amazing how well they did for the mileage they had on them) Oh, well, now I need to research adjustable somethings for the car, so here goes another grand to somebody. But I figure by the time I'm done, I will have dropped the SUS about 3 inches, put on adjustable coil overs and put on an adjustable rear sway bar set to about 20 or 22 mm., and this sucker should be running REAL flat in the corners. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Ron PS. I'm cleaning up the wheels and tires and will post pix soon. |

Very Funny Flyer, anyways, looking forward to the pics judge, but mostly this is just filler to bump the post, hahahahahaha
And i am still waiting for Kickerz to post some pics of his 18's on the car... -Robert oh and i would post some pics of my car but i want some "after" pics to show before the "befores"... oh and about the seat heaters and New England, the SUS was orginally designed specifically for NE, and the first year is was only offered up there. |
