Default airbag light is on and no cruise control

A couple weeks ago my airbag light came on, 02 wrx, but when I shut the car off it went away. My cruise control also stopped working, but worked later that day. Yesterday it did it again, but now the airbag light is permanently on, and cruise is not working.

The car was in an accident, but the bags werent popped. I'm thinking clock spring. The horn still works. Is there any way to scan the airbag light? A regular scanner shows no codes.

thanks
Eric

The airbag codes won't show up in the engine ECU. There is a procedure in the service manual to read out the codes by counting flashes of the airbag light while in a diagnostic mode.

I've done that procedure after installing my seats (airbag delete), It's an easy function to perform, there is a 3 wire harness behind the fuse box, 1 plug and 2 pins. You insert the pins as specified in the manual, and the airbag light will blink the code (also found in the manual). You then can reset the light. If I could post it for you, I would. Get the manuals if you don't have them, worth their cost, for just such an occasion
