Niiice! I really should put Mudflaps on mine. I don't have anything on mine, not even the optional splash guards and I'm running 17x8 wheels. Those wheels toss a lot of crap onto my car.

So have you tested to see if you're blinding other drivers with your HIDs? Cuz I really hate those ricers out there that don't do their HIDs properly (retrofit) and just blind the **** out of every other driver. Looks like you didn't do any retrofitting and could be blasting other drivers with your HIDs without projectors. This guys is the only person on NASIOC that seems to have done it right (that I've found at least): http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2333347 |

post a picture of your car parked say 10ft from a wall. if there is light above the level cutoff line, you are creating glare |

What this guy said. HIDs need to be retrofitted, plain and simple. Unless your car has built in projectors. I can't tell you how many headlights I've wanted to bash in for their cheap approach (and sometimes dangerous) to HID conversions. |

Don't the Canadian spec Impreza's have optional HID's?
http://subaru.ca/WebPage.aspx?WebPag...&WebSiteID=282 Clearly the HID's pictured on the Subaru of Canada website are in reflector housings. What makes these different from putting aftermarket HID's in the stock housing of a USDM Impreza? [edit] In fact after a closer look I read this on the same page: Quote:

I think it's funny the hodgepodge of different accessories for the Impreza that are out there, but there's not one location that has everything available for it. The most common thing that I've seen is that the US-package Sport version has painted 17 inch alloys and roof rails that aren't available on other international versions. However, there are International versions that have side-mirror turn signal lights, HIDs, and non-sport versions of the 4 and 5 door variants with the side skirt rocker panels.
It makes me want to order some parts internationally to put on my Impreza. I'd love the side-skirts on my non-Sport Impreza and those side-mirror turn signals are just cool to me. |

Exactly, you don't know what you are talking about and are just justifying your install because you are blinding every vehicle you meet.
I put in H9's, I produce more glare and I know it, but not as much as putting hids in a halogen reflector |

Non HID version It's not the same. Upon first glance, they appear to be the same, but the difference is the HID version reflector has a base for a D2R bulb, and the D2R bulb has a paint stripe on the bulb to prevent light from reflecting upward (stripe points down so that light doesn't hit the reflector) and the HID housing also has an auto-leveling motor. Your HID kit includes an H11 rebased HID bulb that does NOT have the paint stripe and is not 'point-of-light' centered in the reflector, so it will not have the light thrown the right way. It may be only off by a hair, but that does affect the way light comes out of the reflector. Bottom line: Reflector housing HIDs have D2R bulbs, and are measured to make sure the light is coming from the reflector correctly. HID bulbs in a halogen bulb reflector WILL CAUSE GLARE (whether minimal or not). |
