Can't say from experience... it might be a bit tight for gas.

Are you running step colder plugs or stock heat range?

I've found that colder plugs don't work well with E85. The problem is you might need them for making higher power on 93... another reason why we just keep our cars on E85 all the time.

Justin and I also went to higher compression (9:1) on our new builds so we are pretty well committed to Ethanol.

I'm using 1 step colder. Yeah I might have to find a happy compromise for the 2 fuels, maybe stock heat range gapped smaller will work. I'm hopefully going to change plugs today so well see.

I went from stock to .020 ( recommended was .025 - .022 but I didn't have that on my gapping tool, it was a cheapo from the parts store.)

we really need a good set of aftermarket Coils, the Okada ones leave a lot to be desired, I had a set once and wasnt impressed.

I am working with a huge ignition parts manufacturer to get us some stay tuned!

That reminds me, in some roms, there is a table defined called Ignition Dwell that controls the charge time for the coil packs. Increasing this a bit should create a bit stronger spark so it might be worth experimenting with a bit to see if it helps.

What do you think, should I go with stock heat range and a .022-.024? I know you're not burning 93 pump gas but I'm wondering if the stock heat plugs and smaller gap would work with 93.

I'd welcome anyone's comments here on the spark blowout I'm seeing w/ e85 at 28-29 psi.

Thats what I would do, set the plugs for the higher power/ higher boost tune. your pump tune map is likely a lot less aggressive and could be tuned more conservatively to account for the stock heat range smaller gap plugs.

Ive also read that going to a copper plug can help too, they have a larger spark but they also wear very fast so you'd be changing plugs regularly.

There's no problem with the spark blowout when the plugs are new and gapped a bit wider like .026-28 but after 5k+ miles or so I see this issue. The plugs in there now were in all winter while in storage. It was started every week but just idled up to temp and shut down. I'm sure that's not great for them either.

I discussed the Brisk with Dom and Junior and both said there not the best for a DD, race car is another story.

Stock heat range. Coppers. Gap down. Replace frequently.

I run one step colder NGK iridiums gapped down to 0.6mm, pulls like a champ up to 32psi on E85. (haven't tried more boost yet)

Did the whole copper plug thing for a while, but they only seemed to last around 7-10k km till they were ready for a change

Might try some NGK Racing Iridiums next to see if the tiny ground strap would help with pre-ignition, but they cost a ****load.

Thanks for the recommendation. .6mm is .02358"
I see a definite trend here!

Yo Dude.......Wassup? Have you been enjoying cruising in the Foz? It's my work season out this way so not much action other than me hitting a cruise night on Tuesday nights. The front of your car looks great with those projector headlights. I attached a vid of the back of my new wagon. I cannot wait for Drag Week in September. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNbf...ature=youtu.be
Be safe my Forester Friend!

I've talked about those plugs forever ran them in my dirtbike for years by never found a part number for our cars. What do you have for the part #?

I'm sad to say the XTI is gone. I've been procrastinating this post for quite a while. It was totaled and we're parting it out. Layvon is handling the part out for me.

Please don't ask for details or any photos! It's a big setback for me in the Subaru world and I'm done for now. I built this car over a 5 year period, a steady but somewhat slow progression. I had it pretty much done besides a few minor tweaks and I was actually talking about selling it as I had some unsolicited interest in whether I would consider selling it. I think I set some new standards especially for Foresters and I truly loved driving it, **** it had 143K on the chassis but there was no way you could tell that other than the odometer.

I'm sorry to deliver this post but it's only a car and no one was hurt! That's the most important thing!

I appreciate all the support from this community, so thank you for that!!

Thanks guys! The ****ing car was a tank!! Not a scratch and the airbags didn't even deploy. No replacement plans at this point. I've got to give this whole thing some time and I'm not sure I want another automotive $$ black hole if you know what I mean! It was a pretty fun car and I did'nt cut many corners on this build. I just couldn't see trying to replicate what I had done over the 5 years time.
