sooo I messed and broke stuff.
I wired a NS switch for the manual trans into my ECU since I did the 5 spd conversion. My IAC and O2 cels were throwing for some reason and I figured it was to not having a NS switch (ECU not knowing when in gear or at idle).
Long story short I wired it wrong and fried my ecu. big deal **** happens right? Well after frying it when i turned off the ign the fans would come on and stay on. The injectors did too. It completely filled my engine with fuel (of course I didn't know this). I went to crank the engine and nothing. Wouldn't crank. Long story short after a new ECU and an undoing of the NS switch, car still didn't turn over (this is where i found the fuel problem). My ECU isn't getting power, and my fan/fuel injectors/pump stay on after the switch is off. What controls the ECU power source? Does it come from the main ign relay or directly from the ign switch? I checked all the fuses and they are all good. Also, everything else is getting power, and the other 12V wires in the ECU connector are getting power, just not the 2 main power wires. I am guessing everything stays on and the ecu isn't getting power because of the ign relay. Maybe somehow it got fried. Ohh yes, best part. While cranking the engine (unknowingly full of fuel) it bent 2 rods. Discovered that after pulling the plugs trying to get all the fuel out and turning it over by hand. So in short a $15 switch, and some bad wiring (schematic or me??) has cost me my engine, and a million other electrical problems. YAY. |
