Hey guys it's been awhile since I've posted in here. I'm the OP of this thread and I'm pretty sure I've had the Nameless Performance 3" muffler delete axleback probably the longest around here (since 02/2011). Before I posted here pretty much no one had heard of this company before and there were only about 3 videos on youtube of the exhaust. I saw that even RallySportDirect is not carrying Nameless Performance products which is awesome.

A couple of weeks ago I began looking for a new exhaust just to change things up a bit. I wanted something louder after hearing all those Invidia N1 exhausts but hated the single or double tip look on the 2011+ WRX/STI's. The Nameless axleback is great for making our cars sound louder and better than stock but I always felt the tone was never really deep. I was thinking about the Nameless midpipe but it was a little out of my budget. I had a Perrin downpipe on my car for a couple of months and the exhaust was definitely loud but it was also a bit raspy and not too deep sounding.

Since I wanted to keep the quad tip exhaust look I researched into the more popular exhaust options for 11+ WRX/STI's but I didn't really like how any of them sounded and they all sounded a bit too quiet with their huge mufflers. I finally came across the P&L catback exhaust and decided from the small amount of people that have written reviews for it that it is probably the loudest quad tip exhaust setup available out there right now.

I received the exhaust last week and took some video clips of my Nameless axleback exhaust setup and my new P&L catback exhaust setup. The rumble on the P&L catback is ridiculous, it's not too much louder than the Nameless Exhaust (I tried to use the dB meter on my iPhone) but the exhaust tone is SOO DEEP! I'm sure most of that is due to the resonator and mufflers that they use.

Anyways I really enjoyed the Nameless axleback and I'm hoping I'll love my new P&L catback just as much.

Still wanting an exhaust for both cars. The Impreza is higher on the priority list now. I'll probably see you guys at the Oregon trail rally tomorrow. I'll see if we can figure something out then.

You sir are awesome! Thank you VERY much. I asked this same question to NP over week ago and got no response.

Not to be a total nuisance but about how many inches back from the flange is that?

4 inches o.c. fyi from what I know Ryan isn't with Nameless anymore. May slow some of the customer service side of things... I'm sure they will get it taken care of.

I just installed the NP downpipe with their midpipe. Make sure to use their gasket you received with the midpipe.

I haven't driven it yet since I still have a boost leak at the intercooler. But it didn't seem to make things much louder.

I did the exact same thing as you. 5" and midpipe sounds great. Adding the catted Dp made it sound extremely mean.

How loud do you want the car to be? I didn't want mine to be too loud. It's pretty ok now soundwise on Highway. Slightly loud since I am at 3000 rpm. I love it though.

Is your midpipe resonated? I currently have the magnaflow axleback, non resonated midpipe and catted invidia dp. It is awesome sounding from the outside but a tiny bit too quiet for me on the inside. I have a feeling switching to the 5in axleback would def increase the sound coming into the cabin, I'm just unsure of it'll end up being too loud. Curious what you think.

Well I had a turbo xs catback and while it was perfect sounding to me it was a but much for when I add a dp plus I drive family and friends around so I want it loud but reasonable so that it is obnoxious to talk to people in the back seat. My last car was too loud that my backseat passengers couldn't hear me if I was saying things to them.

Resonated midpipe. It is loud, but not obnoxious. Stock radio is loud enough to cover it easily. I do want to sound deaden the spare tire area a bit to reduce highway drone. Exhaust is quiet as long as you can keep it under 3000 rpm.

I think I've made up my mind thanks to the help of some fellow members. Based on how our cars rev/run high in the rpms compared to other cars and I generally cruise on the highway close to 3k I'm going to go with the magnaflow option. As a fellow member mentioned as long as you keep the 5" under 3k your good to go. While its all personal preference and I'd go with the 5" if I never had passengers for the sake of people who ride with me I'm going to go with the magnaflow and resonated Midpipe and eventually add a dp when I'm ready to pay to play.

Summary: going with magnaflow and resonated midpipe. Thanks for help all.

You sure it'll be loud enough? Nameless suggested the non resonated mid pipe with the magnaflow because its quite quiet.

Here's a clip with STOCK downpipe

Ahh this makes it harder now haha. I want the 5in but then if its loud I gotta switch. I wish I could find someone on jersey with either so I can get a first person perspective.
