I just bought a 95 Impreza L wagon 5-speed, is there a version of the v3 formula for high millage cars?
And i hear a whining from time to time while in 4 and with mostly, it pulsates until i take my foot off the gas, could this be the rear diff or an axle? (i ask because if it's the rear diff, then this forum makes it an easy fix) Thanks

Even when mine is warmed up it won't go into 1st unless I'm barely moving. While cold I have to come to a complete stop and wait a second before it goes into 1st. Real PITA in Colorado.

With a double clutch + rev match it should go right in. If you get everything spinning the same speed there is very little for the synchro's and fluid to have to do. |

I've tried the double clutch route and it doesn't play nice. Used to do it on my Honda and it worked wonderfully.

Prolly gonna try this in my '97 Outback as it has a 1st and Reverse grind unless I am gentle with it.

Tried the latest version of the cocktail in my 02 5 speed but it didn't feel nearly as good as the subaru extra s I had before. Went back to the subaru oil, much much better, quiet and effortless.

Absolutely, your blend works better than the Mobil 1 gear oil I once used in one of my cars for a short time, that was terrible. I have no transmission issues with my cars, no grinding, nothing. I can feel the mechanical difference with each oil type I've tried. I'm easy going on my stuff, got 170,000 miles out my stock clutch on the bugeye and still on the stock clutch in my saabaru at 143,000 miles. It's a matter of preference, I'm a perfectionist, I know what I like, subaru extra s just feels superior.

Ugh...I hate to be a non-searcher. But I'm mid swap and noticed the change from lightweight to heavyweight Redline fluid (Grimmspeed still has the lightweight in the group, I ordered it quite awhile back, I'm old and lazy)
Why the change? I know it's not going to make my car burst into flames. Just wondering. |

Got mine in...Holy crap, what a difference.
Now I just have to deal with my friend giving me crap because he didn't like it when he used it. |

I need to do this cocktail mix...seems like it will solve my slight grind into 4th gear. Doesn't happen all the time but its worth a shot I guess. I wonder if GrimmSpeed will sell the heavyweight redline instead of the lightweight. I'll have to call them.

I'm having the same issue. Is your grind under normal driving conditions? Mine grinds only when doing a 60mph pull in 3rd gear as I shift into 4th..

Yeah under a hard load it will grind. But it has occasionally done it under normal driving conditions but that's very rare.
