My local chapter SCCA Autox chairman ran his 135i with 255 RSR's on his stock rims and said they were great with only 20miles on them.

Raining this morning. The 595 evos are significantly grippier.

How much wider would 255/40/17's be in the ss595's compared to lets say a Star Spec which are known to run wide.
Would they come in between a standard sized 255 and 265 in terms of width? |

I would run neither of those sizes on the stock 8" wheel though. |

I am on 17x9 wheels and have read 255's are suited for 9" wheels. Last edited by Delphi; 03-21-2013 at 03:28 PM. |

I'd do the 245/40 (not sure if RSR is offered in this size though). I had ss595's in that size and they were pretty well sized on a 9" wheel. |

Also fairly irrelevant on here, but that's a 205/50/15 on a 15x8 wheel. To give an idea of sizing

I just recently picked up a set of ss595's. I wanted to get the RS-r's but they were on back order. I have a little over 150 miles on them and they still feel a little squirmy.
I don't feel confident in them like I did with my Bridgestone 050A's. Hopefully this will change once the mold release compound is fully worn off. I'm running 32 psi f/r. Check these out. http://www.federaltire.com/en/produc...ts_detail_sn=3 I would love to have these as a dedicated canyon/ track day set. |

dOOOOOOOOOOOd......... I am well aware of that...
A few days before I got a quote for the 595 RS-Rs (245/40/18) at 580$ in stock (with military discount) When I came in with the cash they just sold the last set and they were on back order for an undisclosed amount of time... I ended up getting the SS's. |

The rsr's always seem to be on backorder.
http://www.onlinetires.com/products/...g+94w+bsw.html I would give them a call and see if they actually have them in stock before ordering. If they are backordered then expect to wait a while before you get them. |

the entire federal line seems to always be on backorder....
best I've ever been able to do was to just keep calling around to different places. Les Schwab might be a good place to start, as they might have some SOMEWHERE in the country. Last set I ordered was through them. They sourced 1 pair locally, and then had the other 2 shipped from Texas. |

Getting a set of tires for the summer isnt the first thing I think about during the winter months but so true! I almost ordered a set of rsr's last spring but they weren't going to be at me door until at least mid summer.

Crap. I didn't realize they tend to be that backlogged. I'll call around tomorrow. These might have to wait until next season.
