It's pretty rich for only 5-12 psi. I would pull a little timing to get rid of the knock for now, and then lean it out in that area. You might find that you can bump the timing back up then.

Looks to me like your timing is too high. take out 1/2 degree of timing from 60-80 load at 3750 rpms.

Thanks for the input. I'll knock out about .5 degree around the knock are and lean out the lower load sites.

Are you sure it's too much timing? It looks like not enough timing. In my experience, the 7th column from the left is the amount of advance the ECU would be running if it were in control, and the 9th column from the left is the amount of advance you have programmed into your timing map. From 2 psi on up, you are running anywhere from 6 to 16 degrees LESS advance than the stock ECU would be happy with.
I would lean out the AFR a bit and try and get advance to be more in line with what the ECU likes. YMMV. |

The reason why the timing is lower than the factory ECU wants to run is because with Utec we are running considerably leaner than stock plus running higher boost levels and if we were to leave timing stock with as lean as we are, then we would be knocking all over the place. factory ECU runs about 9.5:1 afr. Also he's on 91 octane which requires lower timing. |

argh. if you look at that log, and then ALSO look at the maf that the stock ecu sees, you will see why the stock ecu wants to run so much more ign adv. given the accurate readings, your stock ecu would not be wanting to run those values.

Lemme see if I grasp this right...given the fact that we've changed values from stock...IE: altering fuel, boost, and timing The ECU is getting different readings than it would stock so that ignition timing is not really what the stock ECU would be giving? |
