Default Ran the 1/4 for the first time, 08 STI, stg 2 PDX Tuning

I started the night out attempting a TSD rally in the Portland area, but I couldn't get 3 steps into the damn novice directions without getting lost. After an hour, I gave it up for good and went to PIR for the Friday night drags.

It was my first time running this car and my second trip to the track. My car is an AW 08 STI with a Perrin DP, TurboXS intake and an off-the-shelf tune from PDX Tuning.

I got 4 passes in and managed to improve with every one. My last pass was:

R/T...1.72
60'...1.749
1/8...8.259
MPH...83.68
1/4...12.917
MPH...105.62

I was happy to get into the 12s! I shifted lower in the RPM's with each run and ran better times and traps speeds with each run. The run above was shifting:

1st...to red
2nd...6500
3rd...5500
4th...to red
5th...to the end

Anybody got a shift plan that works better than that? I figured I'd get into 4th early since I have to run that gear anyway; I might as well run it in the torque. I thought it would be better to stay out of fifth as much as possible because I read somewhere that fifth is the first overdrive gear.

I ran against a RB 08 with BBS/Nav and Cali plates, but I forget his name already and, stupidly, forgot to get his contact info. Anyway, if you read this, do call me. I don't have anybody to drive with out here on all these great, empty roads!

I searched but had a hard time finding other 08 times with similar mods...any posts of stg 2 08's 1/4 mile times would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know how big a difference humidity makes? It started raining about ten minutes after my last run and was humid all night. 68 degrees.

Hey, we supposed to run together! Haha. That civic asked to race me first so sorry about that. Waited for ya but you never came back to the staging lines to run again.
To the op: those are some fantastic times! I've never seen any of the older sti's run that fast with similar mods at pir. I was the old dirty red impreza behind you.

That is a good 60' for your first time out! now you need to make your RT and 60' different from each other...much different Glad you had fun.

"Hello, this is Brandon at Surgeline...sure, we can do a 30R rotated kit with an E85 tune and custom up-pipe, reverse manifold, 1000cc injectors. How does tomorrow sound?"

Nice.

Hi Brandon. I'm thinking one step at a time...I think. Ha ha.

Is there anything short of a bigger turbo that will give me more up top?

DJSuperSoul's numbers: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1702922
The numbers: 20g@20psi
325whp/356swtq
The numbers: stg 2
287whp/343wtq

My current Tim tune is with no mods what so ever at 280whp/318wtq (same dyno as above) so you can see that the HP numbers don't move much until you can move more air.

dyno graphs of above mentioned tune.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1678805

But as Brew-man cited, meth or E85 with few other mods than stage II would be interesting to see. eventually the stock turbo will run out of air.

Thanks tazswing. A turbo might be in my future. The problem I have is with spending the money on all the supporting mods to do it right. Hmmm.
