has anyone had work done at "service king"?
I need to get my WRX repaired. my insurance company and the helpful people at SoDallas suggest Service King. does anyone else have good/bad stories? i'm specifically thinking of the one on the I-20 service road and the one on 303. thanks!

I have had my Camry in to the service king in plano a couple of times(Yay for TX drivers )
The overall quality was't bad, but I had to take the car back both times to get them to clean stuff like dirty fingerprints left on the visor (like obvious, dard black fingerprints) and the last time, when he rear bumper and trrunk and such were done, they had to redo the seals on the rear doors, they left weatherstripping goo everywhere.. Also , they still haven't been able to find the leak in the trunk.. didn't leak before that jackass hit it |

the service king i went to on rufe snow in NRH did and outstanding job on my honda accord, the paint came out WAY better than the original, the repairs were undetectable, the welds were perfect, the car ran perfect, and still does to this date, this was 4 years ago too, all of the lines were perfect, hood mated with fenders and so on perfectly, i would definetly head back that way
also check out caliber, they did awesome jobs on our other cars |

i rear ended somone...so my grill and lights and bumper needed to be replaced.
1st i went out to look at the car and noticed. 1. the little cover on the front bumper I dont know what exactly its for i thought it was to cover a tow hook but seeing what was there thats not what it is for...but any way that was missing...they couldnt find it any where after looking for 30 minutes so they had to re order it and i i had to go up there later in the week to get it. 2. they did not put the wheel wells on correctly so they where not fastened to the bumper correctly they had to fix that when i took it back later in the week. 3....this is the best one. im driving home and think i see some smoke but then it goes away...i check my gauges and every thing seems fine...next light i stop out there is more smoke...get worried pull over and dont see anything leeking all i see is some smoke its dark and my house was just down the street closer than the service king...drive home when i get to my street the temp starts going up as i pull in the drive way...when i get out there is fluid leeking all over the drive way still cant see where from cause its dark out side and when i shine the flash light down there all i see is smoke....next day take it back and he said that a hosed was kinked i (what ever) i dont really care what it is they should of taken it on a test drive... i asked numerous times to check the engine and the mounts to make sure there was no damage. 2nd they leave the covers on you mates so they dont get them dirty so i figured i would leave them down there tell they get to dirty to save some life on my mats couple days later i finally take them out and my mats are not even there. go back once again (for a 4th time) and wait again for about 30 minutes for them to find them. 3rd it hasnt been that long since ive had my car back maybe 3 months and now one of my lights is starting to dim not really sure why im guessing they probably used the old light bulb i have been to busy to look and see what is going on. i also had a car years ago that i took there and the same thing i thought maybe it was just the one in irving so i went to the one in bedford this time to give them a second chance....never again will they get my business. |

With the large number of Service Kings in the area, I think it would be more helpful if people would also state which one they went to.

Different Servie kings are run by different people and handle incidents differently.
The SK you are most likely looking to use is the one on IH20 just before you reach the 360 service road. My car has been there and received excellent service and repair. I did gain 1 door ding while in the shop. when you drop the car off, they do a walk around. Make sure and document anything and everything (even go so far as to take pics of the car when you drp it off)... when you pick the car back up, give it the same walk around and check for dings. |

I went to the Service King on Lemmon (just down the road from SoD) . They did a great job, pretty reasonable rates.

update:
i just picked up the suby after 10 days. the bumper looks very good. i think the paint work looks great, but it's hard to tell under the most piss poor wax job i've ever seen. the blend looked great when i picked it up, but now that the sun has come out more i'm going to give it a thorough look-over and make sure. there wasn't undue milage, anything missing (that i can see), or extra door-dings on the car. i'm so glad to have the car back. it looks nice de-badged and i can't wait to put it back on the rotas and take it for a drive Last edited by bailey454; 06-20-2005 at 02:23 PM. |
