I have an '09 2.5i base stereo.. 3300BT same wiring as 4400 but I don't have to worry about SWC.

I just ordered from Crutchfield today:

Pioneer AVH-P3300BT DVD Receiver
-MTX JackHammer JH805 37.5W (4ohm) x 4 & 500W (2ohm) x 1 Car Amplifier
-Kicker 09S10C4 Solo Classic 10" Dual 4-Ohm compnent subwoofer
-Kicker 09PK4 Amplifier Wiring Kit 4 Gauge
-StreetWires ZN5450 Zero Noise 5 16.4-ft. 4 Channel Patch Cable
-StreetWires ZN5250 Zero Noise 5 16.4-ft. Stereo Patch Cable
-Sound Ordnance BB10-50S Single 10" Sealed Box .54 cu.ft.

After reading this thead I ordered that ''PIONEER DVD VIDEO BRAKE HACK BYPASS AVH-P3300BT NEW'' from ebay.. 3 minutes ago. I'll decide when I'm too distracted.

Question..
Will the light dimmer and antenna amplifier work with the Subaru HU install harness from Crutchfield or do you have to rig those up yourself or buy the 20 pin harness from http://ae64.com/Subaru-20-pin-harness-install.htm ?

you should not have to add any wires to the crutchfield harness for your setup. I had my 4400 wired up with no ASWC, initially, to a crutchfield issued harness with an amp, and for lack of a better term, was all good.

Cool thanks.. I was thinking of having an installer install the HU even though I've installed many over the years. After seeing how easy it is to access HU without ripping entire dash apart, I'll probably do it myself.

I still might have them run the amp power wire through the firewall if it's going to be too difficult, I'll have to do more research here first though.

Doors should have 6 1/2" speakers.

Man, you have me eyeballing that AVH-P4400BH now. Looks to be a nice unit, with some fast response to your commands.

if you buy one, you won't be disappointed. it hasn't let me down so far. it's got a fast response time on every function, even when searching through my ipod classic, which has almost 17,000 songs on it. i love it.

For the price it is good, but I've had 3 AVH's in the last 3 year and honestly I'm so tired of the display style. The new 8400 have updated screen..looks so much cleaner and more "current". But for my money it would be on the X930BT w/ nav for under $600 new now.

3 H/U's in 3 years sounds like a lot, hope that was by choice and not forced due to break downs. That screen does look nice on the X930BT, but I'd never waste my money on an in-dash nav when I have free, excellent nav through my android phone. Plus Even with the great online prices, the X930BT definitely brings the budget up about 1/3 from where it would have been for the 4400BH.

I wish they'd just up the resolution of the AVH's and then do some minor UI updates and then I think they'd have a sharp unit on their hands.

I wish I knew that a few months ago when I put in my AVICX930 After my x920 was stolen I had bypassed that one too.

Looking forward to getting your harness- Thanks for the quick turn around!

I have everything but the harness and the JDM trim piece so it will probably have to go in next weekend.

Can't wait

I also was looking at the X930BT but what I don't understand why Navigation in these HUs adds so much money to the cost. Especially when the iphone and others including hand held nav units are soo cheap now. I would pay an extra $100-150 for Nav in a HU but most are closer to $400-500 more than non-nav.

I'll snap some later. Question: I realize you decided not to utilize the center console for the ipod interface, but would it have even been possible to make it work? Or didn't you take a look? I'm just curious how invasive it is on factory wires, mounts, etc. I don't think I'm going that route either, just wondered.

well, honestly i haven't looked into it yet. i want to say i remember reading where someone they made it work, but i can't remember where.
i'm thinking of picking up another ipod classic to leave in the car/glove box permanently, so it will probably never be something i pursue, at least until i get a bit bored and want something to tinker with.

side note: I considered installing a 2.5" HDD in the car, but for my purposes, the ipod interface can't be beat.

Then jump on the X930BT lol. Because from my research on ebay the 4400 is running under $500. While the X930bt is as low as $550-650. BUY IT NOW.

Which makes it the better buy for $150 more for the navi that we all have on our phone BUT still good/nice to have.

The 8800 is super clean looking, but as of right now for $800 it is not worth the money...esp no navi.

And I've had 3 different cars the past 3 year : 07 tC, 07 WRX UGM, 06 Type-S. Not stolen

I've got the ASWC and 20-pin harness from SVXdc, I've got the brake bypass out for delivery today from ebay, and my 4400bh has been delivered to my buddy's shop downstate. Now I just gotta find time to make the trip down to get the radio itself and I'll be in business!

Sadly I probably won't be down until the end of March haha. I can't wait to get this show on the road!

That was a great deal. Someone got lucky as I have never seen the X930BT go for less than $689.00.
