Default 2002 WRX, 04 STI cluster will not plug in.

Hey guys,

Just got an 04 STI cluster in the mail that I had ordered for my 2002 wrx wagon and the left most plug is not the same, so the plug will obviosly not fit.

From the research that I have done it is supposed to be plug and play.

I have attached pics of the two different connectors, any info will help on what I need to do.

Thanks

I understand this guys, but the issue is that the connectorhas 3 spaces on the top and 4 spaces on the bottom for the connector if you look at the two pinouts, they are different from one another.....

look at the image i posted see how its missing the notch in the middle once u shave that down it shud go in no prob
and once u snip the wires or take the lil pins out watever u wanna do that will prevent aything from blowing or make weird noises due to the fact that the plugs dont contact the extra pin in the sti cluster

I appreciate you help and understand what you are saying, however the two pinouts on the two clusters are two different sizes, and also then the fifth(extra pin on bottom in diagaram on STI cluster) and fourth(extra pin on top on STI cluster) would just be crushed in having no place to go into on the connector...

when I took out my stock cluster the connector only has place for 3 pins on top and 4 pins bottom, just the like pinout on top, the sti cluster has 4 pins on top and 5 on bottom( looking at just the right side of the pinout)
