Default 11.58 @ 122.88 HD Video

Had a good night at the track last night... ran best time ever.. even with poor traction...

Was making 475/438 AWHP/TQ on Citgo 110 leaded fuel. Was hitting boost at 30psi... could not hook up.. 60' was 1.90... Yipes... with stock turbo could get 1.668... got to work on that...

I made HD Video and posted on my site, to access:

I'm getting over 1000k/sec, maybe it's faster in the morning.

Congrats! Awesome setup!

What kind of camera is that?? Awesome picture quality, worth the extra sized download.

I am very happy with the camera... it is a Sony HDR HC7 set up on a tripod in the back seat.. here is what it looks like:

As far as the Red itself, it has more lag than I like but I have become accustomed to it. I just have to rev it a bit higher to get the same push in seat feeling I got with the stock turbo... it is a bit of an inconvenience but ... all is made up when you mash it and distort your face with the unbelievable pull to redline.

As far as drive-ability... I have over 8K miles on the Red.. drive the car to work every day (30 miles away)... still get over 20mpg (normally 24). The ACT 6 puck is very drivable.. zero problems with chatter etc.

The only issue that is giving me a problem is tuning the 83mm CAI for easy driving. Anyone who has installed a larger intake probably has noticed that tuning the intake cal from 2K to 3K is tough. Even with my 70mm I had to really work on it to get smooth acceleration with no bucking/backfires. I have not been able to get the 83mm completely smoothed out in this RPM range. The basic problem is that even with the trims at +/- 3% it goes lean under slight load... breaks up bucks etc.

I can drive around this problem but every so often... normally when I am showing off the car to someone .. I get into this RPM range and it bucks spits and sputters...

All things considered... it is very street-able in my opinion.

I'm a poor boy :-( I only have 2 and 10 meters. I don't think we could do anything on 10. even if the band opened I only have 25 watts with a vert antenna. HF radios are so damn expensive. But yea I almost never find any hams that are into racing or cars. Most are old guys so I don't get on the radio much anymore.

Nice job, how was your last run?

That track looks quite familiar to me.... I was the guy in the Blue 2000 RS (02 WRX swap) lined up right behind you on your last run.

Nice to meet you,

Greg

Hi Greg... my last run ended abruptly with the boost tube coupler slipping off... engine stopped running... had an embarrassing rear tug back to the staging lanes...
