Have these been put on a wagon? Or do they make a wagon version?

Looks subtle, I love it

What size wheels and tires are you running ?

I am thinking maybe we should use the front flares for the rear too.

Has anyone done this with the jetta flares on their fenders that are already rolled? Or even cut the original fender out some to really get more room for some rubber?

My fenders are cut back 1.5"-2" along the entire radius.

How did you mount the flares? I have read multiple ways people have done it but not sure if they actually cut the fenders back or just overlayed the flare. Thinking of picking up a set of these for my wagon

If I do it I will cut the fenders for sure just not sure what is used to mount them once the fender is cut back so they don't rip off going down the highway haha

Actually my description wasn't completely accurate. I didn't remove any material from the vertical parts of the fender well, only most of the upper arch, so i left something to attach the flares to. Basically 3 screws on the front and back edges of the flare- the fronts sit fine against the fenders with no other assistance. I'll quote what i said in the PM because i want some other opinions..

Quote:
Honestly i'm probably going to order another set of flares and start on V2 pretty soon. I will likely bite the bullet and use some pop-rivets from the outside of the flare directly into the fender. This would allow quite a bit more flexibility with the mounting location in the rear, as i'm struggling to keep the flare flush against the fender while keeping it clear of the operation of the rear doors. That, and my paint job sucks.
So that's where i am. Maybe an opportunity to try the front flares on the rear, we'll see. To elaborate on that a bit more, i tried to adjust the position of the rear flares a little to gain some tire clearance and even out the front/rear tire gap. With the change in geometry i couldn't get the doors to close and tuck the flare in the seam nearly as well, then i ended up trimming too much off, and now one of the rear flares is popping to the outside of the door when i close it.

There were a couple things i would have done differently anyway, and for the price i'm not too broken up about it- it's just finding the time to do it over.

Looking to get a set of these just for the rears since I went with the STI front on my wagon. Mecha any chance you could get a pic of the rear of your wagon after the cut with the wheel off? I want to see how much you cut and how much room you have to spare.

Also did you end up getting a second set of flares?

Yeah i might be able to do that today actually, i need to make a camber adjustment. Yes i did pick up another set- waiting until i have some time to spend on them later this summer though.

If you're only putting them on the rear, i would suggest trying to make the ones designated as "front" fit on the rear, as they are much larger. I may try to do this (just replace my rear flares with the fronts from the new set) but i won't really know if i can make it work until i start fitting and trimming, so YMMV.

You can't tell a whole lot by this pic...

but i didn't remove a whole lot- maybe an inch. Depending on suspension you will probably be safe with that- i definitely don't have any tire to metal interference.
