Default GC8 EJ Starter Compatability

I'm having trouble finding a solid answer for my question, despite using the search function.
I need to replace the starter in my 1995 JDM WRX (EJ20G), however I am from Canada and JDM parts are hard to come by locally. My question is, will any manual transmission starter from a USDM EJ drivetrain work with my older JDM transmission?
Thanks for the replies!

Yeah the starters are pretty much universal. The issue comes with using a phase 2 transmission on a phase 1 block so there is no lower mounting stud.

All MT EJ starters will work (Legacy, Forester, Impreza).
