Subaru finally jumps on the immobilzer bandwagon!

Thanks netZ, a coworker of mine is getting a new WRX in a couple weeks and I'll be doing her security system. Good to see not much, if anything, has changed.

the immobilizer is found on the 05 STI, unfortunately the WRX doesn't have that option.

Hey netZ,

I know we were on this topic on another thread yesterday, but I'm curious. I got my '04 STI with the factory alarm.

If there's no immobilizer on the '04 alarm, what other decent features does it have? And is it worth adding a good immobilizer with this alarm, or should I just go ahead with the G5 which you recommended?

don't be fooled... the subaru security upgrade does little to protect your vehicle. either invest in an auxilliary fuel/ignition kill or an alarm system that can protect the ignition wire as well as the starter.

you can get aftermarket immobilizers installed, it's really important that the installer properly disguises the install to make it difficult to circumvent.
