So today i went to clean my MAF, so i disconnected the two small screws and disconnected the connection and pulled the maf right out. The reason i went to clean it was cuz i was seeing high positive LTFT's.

So back to the maf, cleaned it, screwed it back on the intake, then went to turn on the car.. Wait, i forgot to plug in the maf connection. So the car turned on but obviously with a CEL (maf low input). Turned car off and opened the hood, plugged in the maf. All systems a go..

Now i have this annoying CEL on. Will it go away on its own after a few miles? Btw i can clear the codes with the AP, but choose not to cuz i wanna see if changing the o-ring on maf solved my high positive fuel trim issue.

Clearing codes and reseting ecu are two totally different things. Clearing the code will not erase any other data.

Unplug your negative battery terminal for 10 minutes or use learning view if you have a tatrix.

Oh well just drive around with the CEL light on. After xxxx amount of miles of normal operation with your MAF plugged in, it'll clear itself.

I have the same problem, I'm thinking a simple ECU reset will do the trick.
