This sounds like fun. We have family in the Portland area too. I have sent JHamilton an email for more info. Have a short visit with the grandchildren and a fun day at the track with our new MY01 Impreza coupe! Can't think of a better way to spend a weekend.

Just a couple of quick questions. Is the $85 per car or per person? How long will it last? Will there be various run groups, and if so, about how much track time can we expect to get. Both my wife and I will be alternating the driving.

Thanks.......bogusbob (Ken)

Hi again,

More questions, sorry..........

Is there a link so that we can download the tech form and have it completed in Spokane prior to leaving for Portland? We are memebers of the BMW CCA, Inland Empire chapter. Will the tech form that we use for our driving schools work? If so, we can have the Impreza tech'd by Camp BMW when the Impreza is serviced tomorrow.

Thanks again......

Ya richard, I talked with somebody at SPO (sorry I forgot your name) and he said you have to bring your own helmet. Also if you are not a BMW member it will be about $130 or so. Did I get all of that correct SPO?

What are the requirements for lapping. At SIR lapping days you must have done the driving school course to qualify.. Is this the case at PIR?

I'm going to the track around 7:00.

Im going to elmers for breakfast by the track at 6:30. email me if you want to join.

track day is $85

for none scca or bmw menbers it is a one time addtional $35 to become a years membership. so you only pay $85 for other track days for a year.

your have to bring your own helmet.

make share that your car is free of thing that might fly around in the car(CDs,tape.ect.)and take out your spare tire.

Talking

Do we have to book the lapping sessions as I'd be well p'd off if I drove all that way and then found I couldn't get on track.

How many track sessions are being run?

How many cars to the session?

Are instructors available?

Are passengers allowed?

Sorry more questions than answers from me today

Here's how the BMW club runs the track days

They separate the cars into groups, HP(High Performance), A(Advanced), I(intermediate), N(novice). In high performance you will likely see a Ferrari F50 and other exotics, Advanced will be modified Porsche's, probably a Lotus 340R, and other fast drivers, Intermediate will be alot of you guys (it was all of the Subaru's last time), some of the older modified cars and any guys that decide to bring their Veilside RX-7's and Hamann M3's down from Microsoft, and Novice, well, novice isn't pretty, you may get to follow a Civic like you're going home on 520 at 5 o'clock.

You will get I think more than 3 sessions on the track.

Instructors are available. Passengers are ok with helmet if over 18.

Car must pass minor tech inspection to run.

Video cameras are ok if mounted in an ok'd location (usually on a special mount)

I can't think of anything else. I really want to go, because on the 7th will be my 1 year anniversary of going to track days. Too bad I have to work all dang weekend. Someone take pictures, PLEASE!
