Sorry for n00b question, but what does it mean when your ECU is locked? Does it mean that no one else besides MZM can mess with it?

Yes. They do it to protect there tune. Otherwise after you get tuned someone could upload it and put it in a buddys car.

The biggest problem is if you want to go with a new tune from someone else, they won't be able to access your ECU until it is unlocked and reset back to factory.

Actually Jms and Cobb in Austin have a really great relationship and Cobb don't give out dealers that simple. But everyone is entitled to there own opinion so it don't bug me if you don't like Jms that is yahs car yahs money and I'm not forcing yah to go anywhere just givin yah options.

My personal experience has been great everytime something goes out like clutch or fuel pump they are always willing to help anyone out where they can.

There have been a lot of subies going there lately but those guys are more around low 300 and they have three built subies which I believe are now done and back to there owners for the break in process.

I really hate it when tunes are locked, makes you completely beholden to them if you do any other mods and want to retune...

On the AP you can have multiple maps. So that why I said 450 for 1 map. Some have street tune
And race on the AP.

Between the 2 of you no one knows what the **** you are talking about..

Who did you contact Cobb or JMS about the $450 tune?

They are saying that an Access Port costs $600 dollars and it comes with
Stage 1 - ie stock with maybe an air filter, and
Stage 2 - turbo back and CAI maps
Included in the purchase..
They are saying that you are basically paying 75% of the cost of a new one with just that one custom tune.

Im confused on your multiple maps idea. I would see the point for like a weekend race car and weekly driver to maybe have two maps but most of us mainly use 1.

Ranatsu don't yell at me bro I'm just trying to help lol. I'm sensitive

You can't tell me EVO owners don't run race gas maps, and e85 maps. Have you never actually seen the Cobb Access Port?

I don't switch them that much to have a 93 map but I understand what tah mean about one map but if your getting tuned on 93 you don't need 2 maps. Just my opinion.

Do any of yah even use e85 to be worried about two maps????
