Dumb question but is your insurance involed on this? Becuse they should have some sort of say on were the car goes. And who was on drugs to have the car go to a Saturn dealer to get fixed? Don't let them fix it, mine got hit last year 6k+ in damage. It is still messed up. there is little stuff that I notice that bug the heck out of me. Mine should of been totaled it got hit by a cady on the freeway and pushed under a BMW. My wife was stopped in traffic when she got hit.

Glad to hear you got somewere on it. I would see if you can get your insurance to apperaise it too just to make sure they aren't tring to stiff you. Good luck. I wish I could still get mine totaled.

also you can have it appraised at other places a subi dealer would probbly be good and make sure they use all oem parts and not crappy replacements i had a 00 jetta with 8k in damage. apprasials are a good thing and if you do fix it go cf, and aftermarket its usually cheaper han oem and you might come out ahead.

Hey man, called shek and he gave me some good info. He confirmed what I was saying about the fact that you can legally take it anywhere you want. He also said it would not be a bad idea (and is totally allowed) to have multiple appraisals done. An appraiser should be able to even go to wherever the car is.

yeah i thought that if the airbags deploy your car is automatically totaled? that's just what my insurance told me before when i had my wreck. so if your airbags deployed they should be automatically totaled. and my pops is a claims supervisor for an insurance company and he says the same thing so hopefully they don't try and mess u over .... good luck

Is the Saturn dealer already "appraising" it or did you stop that? Can't hurt to wait until they come back with their estimate - you might not need to take it anywhere else.

Raintree, Fat Albert's, Stuttgart SW - call high end dealership (BMW, Lexus, MB, Porsche) and see who's doing their body work. Look for European paint (Spies Hecker, BASF/Diamont/Glasurit, anything else "Euro sounding") or PPG. Not a huge fan of Dupont or Sherwin Williams.

Oh and make sure they know you want NEW OEM panels (not used or aftermarket) for the estimate.

Good luck on getting it totalled! Had a friend with Allstate get his car totalled - the adjuster said it's usually around 83% of the value or more will get it totalled.
