Default Ozz Bros Hard top redo

Just finished redoing my hardtop, the original Ozz Bros one had rotted after 9 years of Maine weather. Total cost about $85.00 (plywood, batting, fabric, and water seal), I reused the carpet from the under side, and the lock hardware. I will post pictures later, but it looks great!

Sorry it took so long (life), but here are some photos

the front part had got so wet at times, the plywood was de-laminating, I wasn't sure Id get anything to trace

But I did, and with a belt sander, I smoothed it up

This is pretty much what was left of the original top

This is the underside of the redone top using the old carpet (which was in good shape)

This is the underside showing the lip I made out of 5/16 plywood, and covered with vinyl, I was also able to reuse the hardware lock-set

The finished product

Couldn't resist a older shot of the "Bad Assed" Baja

Hey there, very nice work! That looks like youll get 9 more... Be sure to keep that pattern for next time! Say, was browsing your pix of your car. What are the two coin slot switches for? Been looking for something to put there, been cant decide...

Somewhere in the archives there is (or was) an AutoCad drawing of a template I did up for a 2 piece bed cover about 8 years ago.......should still be there someplace. Just print it out on a plotter and make your cardboard template and you are ready to go!

Can I get some better shots of the lock hardware? I think I have one of those covers but the lock is missing.

The lock assembly for the Ozz cover is available at Lowes. It's just a dead bolt lock.

Thanks, I think if I take better care of the vinyl, it should last a long time. And yes, those switches control the lights , much better use than coin slots
