i use aperture 3, so i'm very limited to the picture itself, idk how to take **** out of the background like in photo shop and ditch reflection/layer multiple exposures etc etc.
messed around with some editing recently, but this is as far as i could go with aperture i think...i grabbed a shadow that was all black and kept cloning until i had everything black besides what i wanted and then smoothed out with brushes...obviously if i had proper lighting this would be a lot easier with blackpoint adjustments

That would make a sweet desktop image!
Honestly, I'd give Lightroom a try. You can still get the standalone version for $110 from Amazon, and it's worth every penny. I've tried a few other editors and none are as fast to pick up or as easy to work with. |

Just got Lightroom 5 don't even know where to start. Anyone have any preferred tutorials that they started out with? I have found a few but anyone else got some?
I'm well versed in Photoshop but this is kind of a different animal. |

have a look on youtube on how to set your LightRoom up for the metadata and ©/ownership etc of the photo's before you do anything else. LR is easy to improve the photos, then I just save to the same folder as the original but have it put in a separate folder that I call Jpeg edits (if you're using RAW to work with) |

So can someone critique my most recent photos... I know I'm using a potato for a camera and no editing software. but I just want to see what should do as far as framing, positioning and cropping to get a more pleasing pic.
Thank you |

Alright Armin, I'll try and keep the thread going
Do the reflections bug you? I polarized with about 15 shots and those reflections were basically just there. I got rid of a bunch, but the big ones, I couldn't remove without it looking like I removed them, do they hurt the image? |

It's been something like 2.5 years since I've logged into this forum. I actually have had 2 Evo's, a MS3, and a 370 in the interim.
Just wanted to post some of my most recent shots. LMK some CC. |

Part 3B - get a grey card ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ay_Card_4.html or similar) for color reference and use a precise white balance instead of auto. All applications for processing camera RAW files will allow you to set a custom white balance by photographing a grey card under the same lighting conditions.
Why use a grey card to set "white" balance? That's an extra credit question. |
