I did that exact same thing!
Get a bright flashlight so you can pinpoint where the bolts actually are and when you may be getting them close to the hole. Get a long screw driver or a telescoping magnet? Also your best bet is to get it through where the brake light/windshield washier fluid tubes go b/c of the bigger hole.
Just bought one of those magnet sticks today! Let's hope it works, because I've been driving around and can hear the bolts roll back and fourth.

A few quick shots while I was at school!

Someone hit my door causing a dent and it cracked the paint. I had the dent removed, but the crack just got covered by touch up paint and it looked unsightly. So I put a band-aid vinyl over it.

That's exactly what happened to me, and exactly what I did.

So RalliSport UEl Headers will take about 6 weeks to get here. Upon inspection when I took my airbox air duct off today, it looks like my header is seperated.

The part that is seperated is just below the arrow where the horizontal seam is, I was able to move the upper seam portion, so I assume it should not be moveable, correct?

Would like to get this rectified as soon as possible since I think that is the reason for the oil smell. Any of you guy's run the HKS 409 Equal Length headers? (https://shop.bostonmotorsports.com/H...ld_p_1347.html ) or know a place to pick up OEM headers?

I figure since I plan on doing the Tsudo Catback exhaust I might as well get aftermarket headers. Any input would be great, thanks.

I might just be retarded, but I cannot find the PCV valve to inspect it for cleaning/replacement. Anyone got a good picture? I tried to look at the pic from one of the maintenance topics, but I could not line it up to my engine. Or should I just avoid checking the pcv valve? No CEL, just checking for maintenance.

Depends on the offset, around +35 it gets a little iffy you would have to roll the back (at least I did), but+40 would be fine with no fender mods

That's a heat shield? It may or may not wiggle, it's not a big deal.

Those headers are WRX headers. They will not fit on our cars.

ok they offer the wheel in 17x8 with an offset of 35 or 45 and in 17x9 with an offset of 45... if i have to do a little rolling i don't care i want them to sit almost flush with the fender ride nice and not give me any headaches

I have a 235 with a +48 offset. I had to roll, but I was also pretty low.

You may rub under hard cornering.

Damn, what other header options do we have that fit our cars aside from the Rallisport UEL.

Also, in the picture I am talking about the horizontal seam directly to the LEFT of the heatshield. The seam that is almost in line with that lower bolt at the corner of the heatshield.

I have a 17x8 +35 offset w/ 245's. no roll and no pull, just lowered about an inch on Rce yellows/koni inserts. Rarely rubs under extremely aggressive cornering lol.

Obx, cnt, TWE [requires o2 extension ](equal length) , borla reps with fabrication (uel) do not recommend over rallisport. Not worth the headache. Surf the forums for details or maybe someone here can chime in.

Custom modified WRX headers/cat-pipe/o2 extension/possibly CEL or Rallisport period.

Custom modified wrx oem headers or custom modified 2.5I headers for uel. At the moment, the stock headers are not 100% equal length, and have some what of a rumble. If you extend the 4th cylinder outlet you can get a boxer rumble. Someone on lgt did it.

But in my opinion, getting headers is more of a headache vs cost. While rallisport aren't perfect, they have the least amount of issues compared to modding your own.

It's prob not separated. The heat shields from the header work as a compartment for the cat pipe to sit into. The bolts that hold the oem header to the cat pipe are also built into the header the only way for it to separate is for it to shear the bolt off or the entire stud itself.

If it has I have a set of oem headers up for sale. I'll post a pic of the oem header connector when I get home.

It's a Prodrive if you zoom in you can see the 'P' on the centercap. XXR does make a replica of the wheel though.

Ah thank you for that. After doing an oil change, it looks like oil was leaking from around the oil filter and dripping down onto the pipe causing that oil burning smell, thank previous owner.

Hopefully after driving it later tonight the smell has gone away. Today has been a productive day: car wash, RallyArmor UR install, plate holder installed, 3000k high beams, 4100k low beams, 3000k fogs, DRL delete, air filter change, oill change. Boy this car is easy to work on compared to my Audi.
