Unfortunately I think you might be screwed since you don't have receipts. ICBC is an insurance company and their job is to give you as little as possible so if you don't have proof basically to them it's an excuse to not give you anything.

well just hope the car doesn't come back for 30 days and you've got yourself a "new" (albeit without parts) 04 WRX.

****ty to hear.. a lot of the stolens are just used to get from one location to another and dumped.. however.. stealing an 04... That's not common.. and I'd assume there's more then just ignition tampering needed for that.. lose a key recently or have a break in to your res?

Can you post up some pictures of your car and the plate number? Maybe we can spot it somewhere for you. And james can make this a sticky.

I think these guys knew what they were going after... the 04's were the only ones without an immobilizer.... non the less, sucks having a car stolen.

Good luck with the search.

^^^ Actually the OP has an 04 WRX... the WRX didn't get an immobilizer until 06 and even then I understand they can be bypassed.

Shinobi, please post pics of your car and parts in the VIC and NWIC with this story. Perhaps if someone sees any of your parts up for sale, they can alert you. Also, keep an eye on Craigslist.

I had my 04 stolen two years ago. It's not hard to steal it. When they found my car near this place on Fraser, the igition thing was pry'ed off and all it needed for the ICBC adjuster did to start it was to dig in a screw driver and turn.

Actually a while ago the newspaper says 04 WRX and STi are the most common car stolen in Canada.

I belive you can get the shop/business that sold you the parts to write a receipt or print another one to prove the costs. Those along with pictures could help your case.

Thats brutal! Hopefully you get your car back, in some shape or another. Good luck with ICBC and everything that goes along with it. I remember when my car was stolen for only a few hours i was sooo pissed!

so sorry to hear this nightmare, as we all share the same fear with our own cars being stolen.
Good Luck in the next few weeks, hope it all works out at the end.
