Aftermarket Wheels
We just purchased a new '07 Beca and absolutely love all the features. Gas mileage is a little iffy compared with the past couple of Outback wagons we've owned (Yes...we're loyal, this being Subaru # 6 for us!)...but I guess it's worth it for all the luxury the Tribeca affords us.
Big question is this. I'm wanting to add some bling, by putting on some new chrome wheels. Seems it is a pretty tough match if you want to stick with the stock tires. Has anyone added wheels to theirs, and if so...what kind did you end up with and where did you find them?!?! We've been looking at catalogs for days and are wearing ourselves out. It's not easy! Any help you guys can afford us would be much appreciated. Now if I can just figure out the #$^&* nav system....we'll be stylin'! A couple of happy newbies!

It is hard finding any aftermarket stuff for this car, that doesnt reek of junk. i have been planning on upgrading to some 20's, but i agree it is definitely hard. if you go on discountedwheelwarehouse.com they have a ton of packages and one of those visualizer things to see the wheels on your car. I was thinking about getting the Arelli Geneva's. i saw them in a car magazine and thought they would look awesome with my tribeca.

I'd get them AND the mesh grille if Subaru put together a reasonable package deal for all of them. The closest they have is the aformentioned package idea PLUS an XM radio which doesn't do me any good with my incompatible '06. If they dropped the XM out of the pacage and reduced it 300-400 dollars for the excluded part, I'd be all over it!

Thanks for the advice, guys!
I looked at the chrome wheel/grille package when I bought the car, but it was a $1200 add on, which I thought was a little pricey (at the time!) But....after looking at about 2 zillion different wheels and narrowing it down to about 5 that might actually fit the car....we ended up adding some aftermarket wheels made by Diamo. They ended up running about $1200....*haha*...so I probably came out a bit negative on the $$ scale, but I like the wheels. They look awesome....and I'm getting lots of compliments on the car! Hopefully we'll help Subaru sell a few more of these babies! I'll try and post some photos here, if I can figure out how to do that! Next up....I'm having a custom chrome grill made up for it. I know...I'm doing it the hard way....but, at the same time, I'm making it MINE....even more unique than it already is. Really enjoying, and loving...this car! Fun to drive too...I can't stop...with over 4000 miles in 2 months! *L* Aw well...you only live once, rite? I've been getting actual blisters on my hands from the steering wheel! Anyone else having this problem?? I think it's time for some driving gloves! |

I went with the 18 x 8 1/2...as I wanted to mount them on the stock Goodyears for snow purposes. Sure would have liked to go with 20's...but where I live, you need some rubber on your wheels!
I don't have any photos yet...but will get some taken soon and post them here. I think you'll like how they look....sure was a tough decision, but really came down to about only 5 to choose from when all was considered in fit, size and availability. |

Okay...just because I love you guys and this awesome forum...I went out and took a few shots of the '07 Tribeca with the Diamo wheels. Sorry...it's been snowin' and the car and wheels are showing a little dirty...but this is just so you can get an idea. When the car is cleaned and the tires have the treatment on 'em...it's to die for! *heheh* Whatchya think? Did I do good?
It's funny...but they always look different on the car then they do in your head when you're buying them....but I think this was the best choice I had in my area. I put on some limo tint as well over all the rear and side windows (except front drivers and passenger windows). Going over the factory tint...some of the windows are REAL DARK....but it makes it kinda badass! Thank goodness for the backup cam! *L* |

It's the Diamond Gray...which I thought was the best color of the '07's. After a suggestion from our dealer....that's the way we went.
