Default Seam sealer on strut tower

The rubberized seem sealer ripped off in one spot when I removed my strut bar. How should I clean the area before resealing it? Can I use any sealer?

A safe route for cleaning an area like that with questionable materials is to avoid harsh chemicals like brake cleaner. Start with some soapy water or degreaser and make sure to clean the tight spots as best as you can. As far as resealing, I am no expert, but I would say if it was only a small area that got removed it is probably okay to reseal with something close enough to seam sealer. There are a lot of options available, I'm sure any of them would work just fine for this small job. I would make sure to read into the each option a bit further to make sure it can be painted over like stock and that it wont react with certain materials that it might be around. I hope this was a helpful start of a solution.

Unless you're down to bare metal, don't worry about it.

If down to bare metal, seal it with paint, or replace the seam sealer material with 3M products.

If you are down to bare metal, clean it with a wire brush and degreaser and then hit with Por15....https://por15.com/collections/rust-prevention. It turns it to iron oxide, so the surface turns black
